CLOAK & DAGGER Stars Reprised Their Roles For SPIDER-MAN: MAXIMUM VENOM Episode This Weekend CLOAK & DAGGER Stars Reprised Their Roles For SPIDER-MAN: MAXIMUM VENOM Episode This Weekend

Despite very little publicity surrounding the news, this weekend saw Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph reprise their roles from the cancelled series for Spider-Man: Maximum Venom...

Disney XD's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom is mostly aimed at a younger audience, so that could explain why the news that Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph reprised their roles for an episode this weekend flew under the radar. The Freeform drama was cancelled before its time, so getting to see (well, hear) them back in action definitely came as a treat.

The episode,  which aired yesterday, saw Spider-Man enlist the help of Cloak and Dagger as he continues his attempts to stem the tide of a Symbiote invasion heading for Earth.

With Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige now in charge of the MCU stories we see on the small screen, it's unlikely that this iteration of Cloak and Dagger will be seen in live-action again. However, it's definitely cool that they get to live on in another way, and a team-up with Spider-Man isn't bad going!

Were you guys disappointed when Cloak & Dagger was cancelled? Do you think we could see new versions of the characters on the big or small screen somewhere down the line in the MCU?

I'll say it. I really like this show, and can accept it for what it is.

@KWilly - it was a good show, especially season 2 which was a solid 8/10. Shame it got axed.

@KWilly - Season 2 had some of the most surprisingly sharp moments I've seen in a comic show before, to the point where I was exclaiming "how come it's taken this long to see that done?!". Loved how they subverted the "hero must fight his inner fears/self-doubt" trope by having them fight on each other's behalf since their self-doubt doesn't have an affect on how their partner sees them.
And those two kids had chemistry for daaaaaaaaaaaays. Feige could do a lot worse in this particular case than to swallow his pride and keep them.

C&D season 1 was one of the best series of 2018. I may be biased being from New Orleans but I said what I said 🤷🏿‍♂️

Cloak & Dagger was a great show. If Marvel Studios ever revives the characters they should just bring back Joseph and Holt. Honestly, other than the character of Danny Rand, pretty much all of the Marvel Television shows were well-cast. Even Inhumans. The casting was never the problem with some of the shows, it was the writing and directing.

I miss the show. Loved the episode of the Runaways when Cloak & Dagger crossed over

cloak and dagger getting axed was the worst marvel-related news i had heard, aside from stan lee's death.

it was a thought-out show, and the writers DIDN'T feel the need to make the male and female leads become attracted to each other.
