SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES Leaked Video Reveals Some Insanely Fast Loading Times

There have been a lot of reports about how fast the PlayStation 5's loading times are, but this leaked video makes it clear just how quickly players are going to be able to dive into their favourite games.

As you can see in the admittedly poor quality video below (which appears to have originated from someone in Norway who has early access to the console), it will take no time at all to start swinging through New York City as Spider-Man: Miles Morales' wall-crawler.

Starting off on the PS5's UI dashboard, it takes only around seven seconds to launch the game and get to the main menu. Amazingly, it only takes about two seconds after that to dive straight into the action. In total, that's less than 10 seconds to start playing a game, an unprecedented loading time which is arguably unlike anything we've seen on the current console generation.

Sony has been saying for a while that loading times on the PS5 will be pretty much non-existent, and this video proves that. We'll no doubt see more footage like this over the coming weeks.

In the latest adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, teenager Miles Morales is adjusting to his new home while following in the footsteps of his mentor, Peter Parker, as a new Spider-Man. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, the aspiring hero realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. To save all of Marvel’s New York, Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is set over Christmas, so it makes sense for the web-slinger to don a jacket in those conditions. Wearing Peter Parker's old Spidey suit from only the waist up, Miles has a hoodie and sweats on, a possible reference to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

This is almost certainly one of the first costumes Miles dons in the game, and it looks surprisingly cool in action. We've not really seen a huge amount from the game yet, so it's possible the weather in New York City will worsen, and we'll take control of this young hero in snow covered surroundings!

Miles has a number of powers Peter doesn't, including the ability to turn invisible and his patented Venom blasts. Here, we see the webbed warrior unleashing the latter, and that alone is set to be a game-changer for this video game franchise (particularly when it comes to how combat works).

We haven't seen this costume from Spider-Man: Miles Morales before now, and it looks a lot like Miles is swinging through New York City wearing Peter Parker's old suit! It's clearly too big for him, and this brings back memories of the Halloween outfit Miles initially donned in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Of course, comic book fans will also no doubt recall that the version of Miles Morales from the source material initially wore a Spider-Man suit which looked far too big for him, so that could just as easily be a reference to that. Peter is taller than Miles in this game world, so that explains why it's so loose.

This costume is clearly meant to be one Miles can train in, and he's made some interesting additions. For starters, it has elbow and knee pads, while the gloves are completely separate too. However, it's also possible this was what Peter looked like the first time he suited up and started fighting crime!

We know of a number of costumes that will be available to unlock in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and chances are this one will be there from fairly early on. How many other surprises we can look forward to remains to be seen, but The Amazing Spider-Man suit will be in the remastered Spider-Man game.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - That was insanely fast. It took less than 2 second to load the save game and start playing. On a PC this speed is quite possible only on newest SSD NVMe PCI-e 4.0, and yet the raw speed of the PS5 SSD is still unmatched on PC. We'll see on the next months.

@ThorArms - Not only for a console, but this speed is incredible even on a PC. A normal SSD SATA is a lot slower than the PS5 SSD. Only the newest NVMe PCI-e 4.0 SSD come closer to this speed.

The loading time of the last of us 1 on the PS4 was always pretty fast to me as well. Average loading times doesn’t bother me it’s when they take forever is when it becomes a problem like on nba2k and the avengers game
