Insomniac promised fans that something "Fantastic" was coming for the Spider-Man PS4 video game, and now two Fantastic Four-themed suits are available with the latest patch. Check 'em out after the jump.

On the heels of a recent announcement that something "fantastic" was coming to the Spider-Man PS4 video game, two Fantastic Four-themed costumes have been made available thanks to a new patch.

The first is the awesome black and white suit Spidey war when he joined the Future Foundation incarnation of the team, and the second is the Bombastic Bag-Man!

If you're unfamiliar with the backstory of this bizarre outfit, it stems from The Human Torch giving Peter Parker a grocery bag to hide his identity when The FF helped him remove the Venom symbiote and he was left without a mask.

I wish we could get a huge open world game like this but with the breadth of characters that the LEGO Marvel games have.

Insomniac is really going all out. They literally have every mainstream costume except for the Symbiote suit (which they are saving for future sequels). I don't know if they have anything left for the sequel.

My only assumption is that 'Spider-Man 2' won't be releasing until the next gen of consoles (PS5), hence why they're literally giving us every costume.

Bryan Intahar(the game director) tweeted out how nervous he was to share his first draft so either A.he's already working on the sequel or B. He just turned in a dlc draft so we may be getting an F4 dlc of some sort which I hope happens cause damn I'd love to race Johnny Storm around NYC

All joking aside, I honestly appreciate the work they clearly put into these alternate costumes. Most Spidey games have had a clear drop-off in love and polish that the unlockable costumes have had vs. the default. Usually they are relatively low-resolution and just recreate a clunky comic design (that probably only appeared in an issue or two, so even the artist didn't put too much thought into its construction).

But they brought a lot of interesting lines and textures to some otherwise silly costumes and truly adapted them. They weren't just a disposable easter egg feature. At least, not nearly like they used to be.

As someone who LOVES unlocking all the costumes, i was bummed that Bombastic Bag-Man was not on the roster.

Now though....well




(But still have the last stand suit as my default go-to)
