Who should appear in MCU's Spider-Man 2017 Reboot?

Finally Spider-Man joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe after 2 or 3 negotiations between Sony and Marvel Studios since December 2014. Now things are starting to get real interesting as Spider-Man is set to make his MCU debut in Captain America Civil War before returning for his first personal stand alone film in the franchise and his appearance in these films are sure to make them "Joint Studio Produced".

Now let's take a look at who should appear in the first MCU Spiderman film that has been schedualed for 2017 after Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Dylan O'Brian for Peter Parker/Spider-Man

The Actor we all recognized from Maze Runner,(the third novel based film about kids getting killed and with villains theatrically faking their deaths) Dylan O'Brian's performance as a person struggling to regain his memory and survive the dangerous games he has created has earned him the chance to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man who is set to debut in Captain America Civil War before returning for this upcoming stand alone to learn that he should always count on other heroes like him to help him fight his battles and protect the ones he cares about including all other civilians in New York City just before he teams up with the Avengers against the Mad Titan Thanos and all other threats that are yet to come after that.

Julian Sands as Rodrick Kingsley/The Hobgoblin

As an actor with such a marvelously sinister voice, Julian Sands would make an excellent performance as the Hobgoblin. who should act as the 2017 film's main antagonist by acting as a former Oscorp official who wants revenge against Norman Osborn for firing him after creating so many weapons and inventions for his company that he as the Hobgoblin would use against him, even if he has to take his son and anyone and everyone in all of New York City hostage. Surely you all know that Rodrick Kingsley became the Hobgoblin in the comics after the Green Goblin's death but what the heck. Having Rodrick Kingsley become the Hobgoblin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe first before Norman Osborn becomes the Green Goblin should make things easier plus with the MCU having some of the characters and movie plots less comic based, having Hobgoblin as the main antagonist of this film should make things more interesting

Shailene Woodley should be able to play Mary Jane Watson

After being rejected by Mark Webb from Amazing Spiderman 2 over wanting to more Gwen Stacy in such total disregard of the outcome of the 2012 reboot, Divergent actress Shailene Woodley should still be cast as Mary Jane Watson for the MCU 2017 reboot because she is young and she needs to stretch her life more in hollywood films. Even if she has one more film she should learn to multi task and become more of a team player in highly potential films and die her hair red as well.

Logan Lerman to play Harry Osborn

As Peter Parker's best friend and a fellow contender on the short list, Lerman should be cast as Harry Osborn if he doesn't get to play Spider-Man

Kirk Acevedo should play Mac Gargan/The Scorpion

As one of the villains from the comics who has not yet been seen in the films before, Scorpion would make an excellent choice of a villain for the MCU's first Spider-Man stand alone film, Scorpion would fit in with the film and because actor Kirk Acevedo played a human character named Carver from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes who has issues with being around talking apes, he would be the perfect actor to play Scorpion by starting out as nobody Mac Gargan who Jameson wishes to make a hero out of by turning his attention to Oscorp to turn him into the Scorpion so that he can take down Spider-Man however, once his mutation starts to drive him out of control, Scorpion will become the film's secondary antagonist by teaming up with the Hobgoblin in attempts to make Oscorp cure him normal, even if he intends on endangering anyone to do so

Viggo Mortenson to play Norman Osborn

Known as Spider-Man's greatest for and arch enemy the Green Goblin, Norman Osborn is also the father of Peter Parker's best friend Harry and is the ceo of Oscorp. But first he will start out in the first MCU film as a supporting character until the sequel where he will become the Green Goblin. One good reason Viggo Mortenson should portray Norman Osborn is not just because of his looks and not just that its gonna get harder to find new and popular actors for movie roles but because the actor himself needs to come out of his own isolated world and get back to the more popular world of hollywood films and here in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Norman Osborn should be the one role fit for him just yet.

Now before we take a look at who else should appear in the film, we should debate on which two popular heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Franchise should appear in the 2017 Marvel's Spider-Man film not only to help Spider-Man stop the bad guys and save the hostages but also so that we won't get confused with this movie and the Amazing Spider-Man films. Now the two Avengers that should appear along with Spider-Man in this stand alone film are

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Antman

a former electrical engineer and ex con who becomes Hank Pym's Ant Man successor

and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne who will be the MCU version of her mother's ego The Wasp

While it is not yet confirmed, Lilly's character Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank Pym (who is originally known as the villain Red Queen in the comics), is highly specualated and "desperately needed" to become the the modern day MCU version of her mother's ego the Wasp not just because of how the upcoming Ant Man film is going to feature the most heavily alternate changes but because of her having a similar hair style to her mother in the comics as well as sticking to keeping her last name as Van Dyne instead of Pym. Plus with Wasp being one of the biggest favorites of Marvel comic superheroes, we simply cannot expect Marvel to leave her out of the action in the present time period today so if it helps, Lilly's Hope Van Dyne is gonna have to do as the Wasp that helps the Avengers and other heroes in the modern world of the MCU.

They maybe the smallest of heroes but with their capabilities, they should be able to help Spider-Man get through the tough situation the villains put him up to in the film's climatic battle

Now for some of the other cast members and characters that should appear

James C. Burns to play J. Jonah JamesonKnown for portraying Frank Woods in the Call of Duty Black Ops games, James C Burns is a man full of potential at portraying the number one critic of heroes in the Marvel Universe, Jameson who always relentlessly considers Spider-Man a criminal and runs the Daily Bugle. It is true that J.K. Simmons is the #1 J. Jonah Jameson in the world but just like Scarlett Johansson said as Black Widow in the trailer to the upcoming Avengers Age of Ultron movie "Nothing lasts forever". So besides the actor, clearly the voice is gonna have to be the only sacrifice to make if we want the MCU's Jameson and since Burns' character Woods from Black Ops was full of rage and wackiness, he would be the best actor to replace J,K. Simmons for the role of Jameson and surely he will make a great one as long as he accepts the role of the character.

Ice Cube to appear as Robbie RobertsonAn employee at the Daily Bugle who knows that Spider-Man is a hero keeping New York safe. Ice Cube would make the MCU version of Robbie Robertson much more fun than the previous versions of the character since he is African American and has a bold interest in roles of looking out for others.

Winona Ryder for Betty Brant

Nikki Leigh for Liz Allen

Since Nikki Leigh is a popular model and a rookie in hollywood acting, it would be a great opertunity to get her cast for a role in the MCU for a supporting character and by portraying Mary Jane's best friend and Harry Osborn's love interest, Nikki would fit right in with the crowd

Jake Abel for Flash ThompsonWith Peter being reset for High School in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Flash Thompson and his friends will and always will be there to bully him

Andrew Caldwell for Kenny Kong

A friend of Flash Thompson

Ross Bagley for Randy Robertson

Since Ross is still in the acting business it would be great to have him back in the more popular world of hollywood acting

Rhianna to play Gloria GrantFamous singer and rookie actress who would make a great fit for Gloria Grant in the films, but whether she will be a student of Middleton High or an employee at the Daily Bugle is sure to be on debate soon as Marvel and Sony decide.

Cassie Scerbo for Sally AvrilYet another actress who needs to rise in bigger films, Cassie would fit marvelously as the MCU's Sally Avril who may have a chance to become Blue Bird in future sequels

Jane Seymore as Aunt May ParkerLegenday actress from Live and Let Die who deserves a role in the popular world of Hollywood one last time

Samuel L. Jackson to cameo as Nick Fury

and last but not Christopher Heyerdahl for Dr. Stillwellfor an actor with many roles in various films and television shows, Heyerdahl would be an excellent choice to playing the scientist that turns Mac Gargan into the Scorpion

Now feel free to comment on the cast and characters posted here but also please have Marvel and Sony Studios take a look at this list of actors, actresses and characters quickly before they get started on the Script..

Some of these casting I like alot, like Spidey, Harry, Norman, and Scorpion. Others are okay, and some I don't like, such as Robbie and Gloria. One more thing if Nikki and Cassie are going to be in this film, and they choose to be comic accurate, someone else should be MJ other than Shailene. I know beauty is subjective but your general audience would for the most part say Cassie and Nikki are more beautiful than Shailene, but MJ should be the most beautiful woman(girl in this case) in the movie. It sounds mean and I'm not trying to be, but MJ is suppose to be the most beautiful woman in the Marvel universe... I still would be okay with this, I'm not the biggest stickler for comic accuracy, but others are and will point that out.

You get a thumb simply for fancasting Buckwheat (Ross Bagley) in any movie, ever. You sir, win it all.

I agree with most of the castings, but not Ice Cube as Robbie Robertson. Forest Whitaker would be perfect, as he has the age, and looks like Ross Bagely alittle. As for James C.Burns, I'm ok, but if you gave me the choice between him and JK Simmons, I'd go with JK Simmons.

wouldn't mind seeing scott lang as a janitor or something at the school that peter teaches at or somthing but not as ant man and no thanks to a cheap knock off version of wasp, rather have the real thing.Besides theres a rumor going on that janet didn't get killed during that mission in the cold war but got trapped in the microverse

Ok, first of all it's called a "period." It's the little dot you use to separate one sentence from another, along with capitalizing the first word of the next sentence. Evidently, you're not entirely familiar with it (or all the periods in your paragraph on who should play Spidey were ejected, lol.)

Second, what's the deal with putting in actors based on whether or not they need more exposure or, in Jane Seymour's case, one last hurrah? Sorry, but that's bs. You cast the best person for the role, not the best role for the person. There are lots of actors who would love to be in a Marvel movie. (And Jane Seymour is, even today, far too hot to be Aunt May.)

I do think it would serve Sony right to be given the 2 smallest Marvel heroes to cameo in the Spiderman film (pun definitely intended, lol.) I bet they're wanting Cap or Iron Man or Hulk, so giving them Ant-Man instead would be hilarious. I do wonder exactly how it's going to work with actors' contracts for them to be in a Sony film. I'm sure it'll be negotiated in future contracts, but would putting Chris Evans in a Spiderman film count as one of his Capt. America films, or would they have to negotiate a new contract with him? The same would go for any of the actors.

Logan Lerman for Spider-Man....

I don't like your casting for Norman Osborn, I don't see it, at all

@AlexanderLykins

Nah, I don't see it, I see Viggi as more rugged and rough, great actor but I don't like him for Osborn. I'd rather Osborn be a little younger too, so that his character can have an arc and progress throughout the movies
