I doubt it'd take place before Infinity War. He goes through so much in Infinity War and presumably A4 with him going to space and you know.... dying so it'd be a bit underwhelming to take away all that possible development.

Do NOT like the MJ news.

Homecoming gets better each time I watch it. I honestly think its biggest flaws are the sterile style of direction, and the lack of "tragic" problems that Peter faces...but it has a lot of heart and I'm excited for the sequel especially after Infinity War. I can't wait.

@KermitCipher - It'll be interesting to see if they double down on the MJ thing, or just call her Michelle. Even if they had no plans on using Mary Jane Watson in the MCU, you would still hope that Feige and his team would respect the character's legacy. Not literally replace her.

It would be like rebooting Superman, and having him fall for investigative reporter, Lorraine Lawson, from The Daily Planet.😂

@KermitCipher - To me, it's just an unforced error. Probably something from Sony's side or Watts because it seems "clever" in the most oblivious Hollywood executive way to have a dressed-down girl end up being the true love-interest all along.

I think Michelle is a great character, honestly. A great foil for Peter and Ned, and a stellar supporting character going forward. Her being a radical departure from the expectations of Mary Jane is a conversation that makes her less interesting to me than if she was just her own character (or even a fairly loose adaptation of Michele Gonzales or something).

But something went [frick]y with the traditional Spider-supporting cast in Homecoming. Probably because Feige's real emphasis was on getting Peter right and integrating him into the MCU, that supporting cast is just a real mess.

Ultimately, I can forgive it because they did get Peter so right and integrated him into the MCU pretty well. But flies in the ointment abound.
