BOX OFFICE: David Ayer Thanks Fans As SUICIDE SQUAD Passes The $700 Million Mark Worldwide
David Ayer's divisive Suicide Squad has defied expectations and amassed a very impressive $700 million at the global box office, prompting the director to send out a Tweet thanking fans for sticking by the film...
Nobody really thought it'd be possible after those scathing reviews and a pretty significant second weekend drop, but Suicide Squad has managed to scrape its way to an impressive $700 million worldwide BO haul.
As a thank you to cinema-goers, director David Ayer Tweeted the following:
The movie definitely seems to have split fans down the middle, and the majority of critics weren't impressed - but there's obviously still a loyal fanbase there. Personally I had some major issues with Suicide Squad, but I liked enough about it to want it to succeed, and I'm happy that a sequel now seems very likely.
What do you guys think?
