James Gunn Says He & Margot Robbie Have Discussed Working Together Again, But Not On GOTHAM CITY SIRENS James Gunn Says He & Margot Robbie Have Discussed Working Together Again, But Not On GOTHAM CITY SIRENS

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has confirmed that he and Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie have spoken about working together on another project, but it's not the Gotham City Sirens movie.

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn and star Margot Robbie have both stated how much they enjoyed working with each other in recent interviews, and this has (inevitably) led to speculation that they might be planning to collaborate on another DC Comics project down the line.

At one point, a Gotham City Sirens movie was in development at Warner Bros. with Suicide Squad (2016) director David Ayer at the helm, but the studio ultimately decided to make Birds of Prey instead. A lot of fans still hope to see new takes on Poison Ivy and Catwoman make their DCEU debuts, however, and seem to feel Gunn would be the best man for the job.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like GCS is on the filmmaker's to-do list.

Responding to a rather eager fan on Twitter, Gunn confirmed that he and Robbie have spoken about working together again, but not on a Gotham City Sirens movie.

Gunn is set to return to the MCU for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is still on track (as far as we know) to begin shooting before year's end. So, even if he does have another DC-based project in mind for Robbie to reprise the role of Harley Quinn in, it'll probably be quite a while before we hear anything about it.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see another James Gunn/Margot Robbie DCEU movie? Drop us a comment down below.

Said it before and I will say it again, I want Gunn to make a Harley Quinn & Kite Man movie. Maybe with a Clayface or Solomon Grundy as the villain.

@Lostcause - that could be fun too. If The Batman doesn't use him already, then it could happen

This twitter user just automatically assumes that A. Gunn is doing Gotham City Sirens and B. Catwoman won't be involved and gets upset. I know Gunn is trying to be polite, but he's also probably like...

Whatever they do with harley next, they need joker and ivy in that film. I dont care if they need to recast leto. Its not like it would be a great loss.

Her IMDb lists Guardians 3. Wonder if she'll do a cameo like Pom did in SS... Or something bigger???

@ThorArms - Idk, but I'm just imagining a world where she played Captain Marvel instead of Brie Larson. Kinda liking this world lol.

Gunn dominated with Harley’s characterization. The way that whole scene played out and how she rationalized her severe actions was perfection. Margot was incredible in this. Makes me forget the last two films. TSS was one of the best comic book films in YEARS on characterization alone so I’d watch Gunn do anything if he is given full creative freedom again. He’s earned it. Hoping this film pushes him to take more risks with Guardians 3

@McMurdo - I agree, this has been the best live-action Harley thus far. Even if the character herself felt a bit shoehorned in the film

@Franshu - I think that the fact that her story plays in so naturally with the Maltese and she gets to stick the landing on her character arc means she wasn’t shoehorned at all. But just my opinion.

After Guardians 3, I'd rather see Gunn do another film like Slither or Super or what have you. Something from his own mind, not a known property. Just one at least.
