Cavill until WB says otherwise then.

But if DC is a multiverse, how do we know which Superman is which? Is the Superman in Man of Steel the same as BVS, JL, ZSJL, Shazam? Or is each of them different? Is WW84 wonder woman the same as WW 2017 and BVS....probably not and DC can probably "write out" any poor sequels with bad reception.

@UltimaRex - Sounds good to me. Until they introduce another Superman, he's the only one.

Probably just said to calm down the cult of snyder (despite the fact that this happened in the comics)

Doubt it will actually be shown on screen anyway

I don't think WB knows either lmao

I doubt WB knows either. Their handling of these iconic characters has been pretty chaotic. I just hope that Cavill gets to have a film or cameo that gives closure to his Superman.
think its best if WB let the guys working on Superman and Lois focus on their Superman, its been the most accurate and endearing one to date.

@Ojeet78 - Yep. WB is making it up as they go along.

It's the headless Superman from Shazam.

Snyderbots mad over Bloodsport putting Superman in the ICU with a kryptonite bullet, are cool with Ayer's version of SS where the team was formed to take on "Superman level threats" with a chick and her bat.

Moriakum
Moriakum - 6/24/2021, 3:42 AM
@Roodi - It's not a chick and her bat. In the DCEU, apparently, Harley Quinn is a trained and skilled fighter. She can easily kick some dude's ass with twice her size while doing spinning kicks and shit.

Jesus…this whole thing with Superman is such a mess. It’s sad how WB has handled him.

Would have been nice to get cavill even if it was just a cameo, but from what I understood there were negotiations problems between him and wb for future appearanes as superman or something like that so it was kinda expected.

I hope ots Cavill, I'm totally against Superman being recast when we already have a brilliant Superman.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/24/2021, 3:31 AM
If it is Cavill's Superman, they could just take that as the starting point of the next Superman movie with Cavill. They could even rework it into Reign of the Supermen.

Have him feel the after effects of the bullet and thus has to take it slow, which results him chilling in Smallville for a bit. Maybe even have proper solar regeneration suit Superman this time around.
Repian
Repian - 6/24/2021, 4:28 AM
@bkmeijer - Superman is in a "Cadmus sun capsule" while a Cyborg replaces him.

So, Superman wakes up in the world of tomorrow. "Superman: The World of Tomorrow"
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/24/2021, 4:39 AM
@Repian - that would be pretty cool. Cadmus deserves to be on the big screen

I hope if the rumors are true that WB Montreal are making a Superman game it inspires a moment to create more Superman content

If the studio heads at WB ever get their act together in regards to the DC universe, it will be a modern day miracle.
Moriakum

It's the DCEU and it happened off-screen, so, who cares?

[frick] Snyder, DC films and everyone who ruined Superman on film. I'm going to stick with Superman and Lois. Tyler Hoechlin is my modern Superman.

Not surprised considering how WB has screwed this franchise. This tells a lot about the current state of the DCEU

The kryptonite weakness should be dropped. It's moronic to have a being like Superman who could be killed by some dumb kid with a gun and kryptonite bullet.

It's also, very doubtful a kryptonite bullet moving so fast could cause a molecular change in Superman's body so quickly that it could penetrate his skin. Radiation can travel fast but as a bullet it would only travel as fast as the bullet. And a process would need to take place within Superman's body for him to be vulnerable. It is unlikely that transformation could take place so quickly for the bullet to enter his body.

I actually thought Snyder was going to drop dumb stuff like kryptonite and super breath. Too bad Nolan didn't do a truly grounded and more realistic Superman dropping the silly crap they came up with back in the campy comics days.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 6/24/2021, 4:27 AM
@ManDeth - You're taking kt WAY too seriously lol. Its a comic character from another planet. You talk about his body needing to go through a molecular change in order for a bullet to penetrate his skin and you think thats dumb or silly, yet you're fine with the idea of Superman being able to absorb the yellow sun's energy and become a "super man".

Apparently freeze breath is dumb too lol. I don't see how thats any dumber than heat vision, super speed, flight, or having super strength.

Also, how many times has Superman actually been defeated or killed by Kryptonite? Zero. Out of all the people that have used it on him, he has survived and eventually won.

Honestly, it just sounds like maybe comics aren't for you. I'll admit, some characters benefit from being a little more grounded. Superman is not one of them.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 6/24/2021, 4:39 AM
@ManDeth - well radiation does travel at the speed of light, and a bullet ''only'' at around 1/1000th the speed of that.

My guess would be the bullet still gives of radiation that reaches Superman earlier than the bullet, thus making Superman vulnerable enough for the bullet to penetrate.
MadThanos
MadThanos - 6/24/2021, 4:44 AM
@ManDeth - radiation travels at speed of light it all depends on the strength of it.

Considering how fast kryptonite degenerates his body cells the radiation is pretty strong.
MadThanos
MadThanos - 6/24/2021, 4:45 AM
@bkmeijer - that's my guess too.

Since this is pre-flashpoint, this Superman a) is Henry Cavill and b) doesn't matter.

Unless he means that he knows Superman will appear in The Flash movie, pre-flashpoint, and he doesn't know who they're casting for it. Maybe Harry gets first refusal, but hasn't said either way yet.
HarryBloodscreaming
HarryBloodscreaming - 6/24/2021, 5:46 AM
He shot Superman, not an actor. It’s just a throwaway line in a movie, about something another character did off-camera; dialogue meant to create colourful backstory and context. No casting necessary. He shot Superman. Take this tragically rare opportunity to let your own imagination fill in the blanks.
Dredd97
Dredd97 - 6/24/2021, 6:04 AM
So many weirdo man babies that are attached to this version of Superman. There's been dozen of iterations and there'll be hundreds more. Hate to say it, Cavill hasn't been Superman since 2017, I wouldn't hold out that he's coming back. This version of Superman sucks anyway. But all that aside, this kryptonite bullet thing is a non issue and happened in the comics. I don't know why it blew up into this whole "Gunn is ruining Snyder's Superman!!" Don't worry, BvS already did that
Reeds2Much
Reeds2Much - 6/24/2021, 6:15 AM
Well it certainly wasn't Tyler Hoechlin because he'd have to be a monster to take a job that would shoot such a National Treasure.

@Reeds2Much - And besides, Tyler just pulls his own Kryptonite bullets out...
