VIDEO GAMES: SUICIDE SQUAD Video Game In Development

Geoff Johns sat down to talk about the video games adaptions of DC Comics characters where he said a Suicide Squad video game is being developed and talked about what it would take to get a Superman game going.

Kotaku sat down with DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns to talk about the translation of DC Comics superheros in the video game medium. The Batman Arkham franchise is the obvious main success for DC, and Johns praises Rocksteady and their passion for Batman as to why the games are so good, "Rocksteady has a real passion for Batman, and I think that's why they make a great game." With the success of Batman most people have been asking when is it Superman's turn to get a run in a video games series. Johns says its easier said than done, but they have looked in to it. The problem lies with what does Superman do during the course of a video game."We talk about it a lot, about how flipping up robots for four hours would get old," He said. They have talked about doing a video game based off of Johns run on Superman titled Last Son. That story line involves Kryptonian villains escaping The Phantom Zone and causing chaos for The Man of Steel. Johns says it all comes down to the right studio though, "I think all games come down to gameplay and the right studio. I'm sure the right studio could crack it."

The one idea that Johns is really excited about is that DC is developing a game based on the supervillain team of The Suicide Squad. "I'm really super excited about it. Because of the concept, you have a game where any of the lead characters can conceivably die and it's not a stunt. Some really cool story could come out of that," said Johns. No word on when the video game will be released of who it is being developed by, or if it is based on The Suicide Squad of the DCnU. Another little bit of information according to Kotaku is that the Suicide Squad movie is still a go at DC as well. Make sure to check CBM for the latest on the Suicide Squad video game and movie.

I don't know anything about the suicide squad. But I would like this see where this game would go if it got off the ground.

Hope they produce and release a quality Superman game next. Just expand Batman's Arkham City map by several times and change it to much brighter, cleaner buildings and skyscrapers of Metropolis. Don't make him absolutely invulnerable and put some decent enemies with some decent AI against him and they will sell by the bucket load. Maybe try write a storyline for the character too John's instead of having him flip robots for 4 hours.

If They want to do a good Superman Videogame, "GODFALL" would be a good story to work around. It would fit with Rocksteady.

Love Suicide Squad probably one of my favorite DC comics, well the original ones with Deadshot and Capt Boomerang and Flagg and Co. Loved that comic...Floyd Lawton is the man!

A Superman video game is a tough project. With the right studio though, it's possible to make a great Superman game.

Obviously, the majority of people posting in here are fans of the Suicide Squad. But I don't know if this game should come out before a flagship character like the Flash or Green Lantern(not based on a movie)get their own game.

Nothing against the Suicide Squad, just my two cents.
