A rumor did the rounds recently which named Reed Morano as one of the directors on Warner Bros.' radar to helm the upcoming Supergirl movie, and while it doesn't appear that any official talks have taken place, it does sound like something that might happen down the line.

While chatting to THR about her new movie I Think We're Alone Now, Morano denied that she's been in contact with the studio in regards to the DC project, but admits that it could be something that she'd be interested in pursuing.

“I don’t know if it’s really a thing, [but] I like the idea of doing something new every time, so I don’t say no to any idea. I’m always thinking [how] I can bring something new to the table that still feels authentic to the story, not [doing something] just for the sake of doing something new. But if there’s a reason for me to do [Supergirl] in particular, then I would like to do it.”

Elle Fanning, who stars alongside Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage in Alone Now, says that she and Morano have been jokingly raising their arms in Supergirl's flying pose ever since they got wind of the rumor.

Perhaps the director wouldn't need to conduct too extensive a search for her Girl of Steel if she was to take the gig!
