Laurence Fishburne Says No Deal In Place For MAN OF STEEL Sequel...Yet

The actor portraying Perry White in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel says the doesn't have a deal to reprise the role in a sequel...yet. Fishburne also comments on the mini-controversy that arose when it was first revealed that he would be playing The Daily Planet chief.

There's been lots of talk about Warner Bros.' post Man of Steel plans but the actor playing The Daily Planet's editor-in-chief says he's not signed up for anything beyond the first feature film. At least not yet he says; noting that things could change very easily once the initial box office numbers are tallied. “No, not yet, not yet, not yet. I mean, we have to see how the film’s gonna do, right,” says Fishbourne about whether he has a contract for future Superman films. The talented thespian goes on to reveal that he (at least in his own words) has a pretty small role in the film and that the audience shouldn't be focusing on the skin color of Perry White. “[Man of Steel's] a much bigger canvas than that. My particular colour on the canvas is minimal. It’s really an origin story, Man of Steel … the focus is his origins.”

Count me among the many fans anxiously looking forward to Man of Steel and I'm sure Fishburne will more than do the role justice. Look for the Last Son of Krypton to grace American movie screens June 14th.
