BOX OFFICE: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURLES Hits $400 Million Worldwide

Despite opening in North America during the summer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has only just reached a number of key international locations. A strong debut in many of those has resulted in the Michael Bay produced reboot reaching the $400 million mark.

According to Variety, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has now passed the $400 million mark at the worldwide box office after finally reaching China and debuting at #1. It was that opening which played a big part in the Michael Bay produced reboot topping the overseas chart this weekend with a haul of $34.7 million, though China contributed a whopping $26.5 million of that. The rest came from countries like the UK, France and Germany. As a result, the movie's total is at a solid $434.6 million globally. No wonder a sequel has already been given the green light, eh? Had it not been for the debut of The Maze Runner in China this weekend, it likely would have earned more, but this is obviously still a very impressive performance. Have you guys seen the movie?
