THE CROW REBORN Starts Production As Jason Momoa & Director Corin Hardy Get To Work

Well, here's some unexpected news to bring your weekend to a close. According to Jason Momoa, production on his long-gestating reboot of The Crow may be about to begin in the next few weeks. Check it out!

After years of being stuck in development hell, it looks like Relativity's reboot of The Crow, reportedly titled The Crow Reborn, is finally set to begin production with Jason Momoa (Justice League) set to star as Eric Draven and Corin Hardy (The Hallow) in the director's chair.

Momoa, who recently wrapped the underwater superhero adventure Aquaman, made the announcement on his personal Instagram page earlier today with a fan-made picture of the titular hero and a second photo of himself alongside Hardy with a caption that read "I’ve been waiting for sooooo long. @corinhardy let’s do this brother aloha j."

While Momoa was cast in August of 2016, details on the rest of the cast remain a mystery, but it looks like we'll be learning a lot more very soon.

I'm just gonna say it: The Crow is overrated, and very much a product of its time. Leave it in the past. This won't be good. I can almost guarantee it.

I'm getting used to the idea of Jason as the crow. Definitely isn't the first person that came to mind but it could work. Eric was described as being 7 foot in the graphic novel so his height isn't a problem.

Such a 90s grunge character. The fact that they cast Mamoa seems like its just gonna be a big action packed nothing of a film. Like the new Conan.

@Kevwebsz - This worries me, too. I mean the guy is beautiful, so I could see them getting some nice, dark ,gothy romantic shots of him... but it's fvcking Conan. And wasn't he an Expendable, too?

He is waaaay too tough-guy to be seen as comics accurate. Doesn't exactly have that Iggy Pop physique.

Also, the studio will probably want to settle for the action movie moey instead of letting the film be what it should be (which, if done right, could fetch them a lot more than a throwaway summer action movie would).
