CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Showrunner Reiterates That THE FLASH Movie Will Be FLASHPOINT

There may have been more to Ezra Miller's Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo than we realised, as Marc Guggenheim has shed a little more light on what led to the Scarlet Speedster appearing in the crossover.

The Flash director Andy Muschietti recently revealed that his movie will be a "different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting," and during an interview to talk about Ezra Miller's Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo, showrunner Marc Guggenheim reiterated Warner Bros.' plans to adapt that storyline.

Why is that noteworthy? Well, with rumours and speculation swirling that Flashpoint will reboot the DC Extended Universe, creating a new world and opening the door to a new take on Justice League (with Robert Pattinson's Batman instead of Ben Affleck's), it sounds like Guggenheim had strict instructions not to do anything that would interfere with Warner Bros.' big screen plans.

"I would send drafts of the scene to both Jim Lee and [DC Entertainment’s film VP] Adam Schlagman and we would just go back and forth," he recently told Entertainment Weekly. "The trick with the scene is that I didn’t want to and they didn’t want me to do anything that stepped on the toes of the Flashpoint movie that they’re developing. So, we really worked hand-in-hand."

There were two noteworthy moments during Ezra Miller's appearance in the Arrowverse; for starters, he learned that his doppelgänger is known as the Flash (giving him his name), while his meeting with Barry Allen confirmed that there is a Mutliverse, something he's clearly discussed with Cyborg.

That alone could set the stage for Flashpoint, as it's clearly going to be some sort of universe spanning adventure. What are your thoughts on these comments from Guggenheim?

I really think that the Flash movie starts with Flash telling Cyborg of the Multiverse, which sets the stage for him going back in time to save his mom.

The rest of the movie is probably just Flash, with the help of Cyborg and Batman (and maybe the Wally West Flash), fixing the mess he created.

The only thing why this is a different version of Flashpoint is, my guess atleast, it doesn't involve Reverse-Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman

So maybe we will get a suit cameo with a double in it like shazam if it’s just a quick talk but hopefully this flashpoint brings In pattison Batman after so we can have a new Batman for any new JL movie we get. WB needs to sign these characters to an extended movie deal.

The way this movie has been in endless development hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't end up being Flashpoint.

So yet again, Warners is still planning on doing the most famous Flash storyline to fix problems in the DCEU instead of to teach Barry not to muck with the timeline because of all the troubles it can cause. More proof Warners doesn't know what they are doing with the DCU.

Ahhhh I love this universe. It reminds me of a time before superheroes were cool, when they were still dorks in tights with silly looking ray guns and you were ashamed to like them. And you deserved to be ashamed because they were super lame. It’s important that these shows continue so we don’t forget how much superhero adaptations once sucked.

That said, this crossover thing is pretty ambitious and that impresses me. Unfortunately, when crap is mixed up with other crap you still get crap.
