Warner Bros. and Game Night directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are set to adapt - albeit, loosely - the acclaimed Flashpoint comic arc for Barry Allen's (Ezra Miller) first solo big-screen outing, but that doesn't mean they'll be going with that title for the project.

Right at the end of their report on one of the movie's writers, Dan Mazeau, adapting Ernest Cline’s Armada novel, The Hollywood Reporter mentions that Mazeau also “worked on the Warner Bros.’ Flash movie project when it was titled Flashpoint.”

This was quickly picked up by Flash fans, who quizzed THR's Borys Kit about it on Twitter:

So, what will the film be called if not Flashpoint? Kit isn't giving anything away, but this being the character's first solo film, we're thinking simply "The Flash" is a safe enough bet.

I would sure feel better if it wasn't named that. Definitely would be one of WB's smarter moves.

Game Night is my second favorite movie of the year. Faith back in Flash is restored.

@regularmovieguy - I've only heard good things about Game Night. The trailer caught my interest and I'm eager to see it.

Hopefully “Flashpoint” retcons Ezra Miller’s casting as Flash.

Sorry. That was really negative. Here’s a puppy holding a pizza to lighten things up.

They should call it Quicksilver as retribution for not being able to call Shazam Captain Marvel.
