Helena Bonham Carter Talks THE LONE RANGER And Working With Johnny Depp Again
Carter, who has shared the screen with Johnny Depp on several movies directed by Tim Burton, comments on working with the actor on Disney's action Western The Lone Ranger. She also praises director Gore Verbinski.
Speaking with MSN UK, actress Helena Bonham Carter (Les Miserables) talks a little bit about working on Disney's upcoming action Western film The Lone Ranger, which stars Armie Hammer as the titular character and Johnny Depp as Tonto. "He is funny because he's one of the most beautiful men in the world and he just covers himself up to such a degree, but he does make me laugh," she says about Depp. "It's always fun with Johnny because you've no idea what he's going to come as. His make-up and his costume is always like - pile it on more... he's somewhere in there. Actually the first time I worked with him he was 120 years old, old, old, make-up, so it might not have been Johnny, in fact it probably wasn't!" Carter has worked with Depp before on five films, all of which were directed by her husband Tim Burton. She had this to say when she first saw Depp on the set of The Lone Ranger, and also praises director Gore Verbinski. "It was a bit weird when I walked on set and there was Johnny in his usual crazy make-up, tons of make-up. And me looking actually a bit strange too - I had one leg and a peg leg. And there was no Tim. And then we got used to it. Gore Verbinski is very funny. He's worked with Johnny a lot and it was fun."
The Lone Ranger stars Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson and William Fichtner. The film is set to hit theaters July 3rd this year.
