I just wanna say that i love these articles from you man, they're very insightful and also is great to know the stories behind these movies, i'm a sucker for behind the scenes so i'm always aroused and entertained by them. Thanks for taking your time to write these and i really hope you get to write all the movies all down the way to Infinity War, Keep the good work mate.

And on Topic : The first Thor is one of my favorites, i barely grew up reading comics ( it was impossible to get them in my country around that time) tho i grew up playing with the toys, action figures, watching the cartoon and a bunch of Superhero SNES videogames. One of the few comics i got the chance to have in my hands was a THOR comic and since then The Mighty God Of Thunder has taken a special place in my heart,so seeing him in his own movie was just mesmerizing to me tho he stumbled a bit on THOR 2, redemption was found in RAGNAROK, but hey i guess that's a conversation for later :). Cheers dude.

The first Thor is so underrated. My favorite scene USC when he pulls the hammer out in the rain

Just watched this yesterday for the first time in a long while. There's one moment during the would-be transfer of power when Odin calls Thor his firstborn. When you look at the way Odin and Frigga act right there in these few seconds with the new knowledge from Ragnarok... it just fits perfectly.

It's definitely not that Marvel has everything exactly planned out from the start, but they are doing a terrific job at expanding upon the things they build, without ending up with too serious discrepancies.

My favorite scene in the first film was when Odin strips Thor of his power. The emotions in that scene were felt through their eyes, and it carried through anytime you saw all three in a scene together right up to Ragnarok.

The fight against the destroyer and the romance were the only dissapointing parts of the movie for me. The rest of it is awesome and imo underrated.

Pretty good but you really missed the point on Coulson. The pay-off was in the Avengers, not this movie. Now if you didn't like the Avengers scene then it was a waste but if that was the case you didn't make that clear.

@JDL - agree

Also we as viewers obviously know that coulson is part of the connective tissue in phase 1 and also a great character so anytime I get to spend more with him in films and tv I’m all for. I remember seeing it in theaters and having him in there really made it feel connected, especially when someone quips “this one of starks?”

But it’s good to keep in mind that obvious they are still going with the avengers iniative and bringing together special people but, and this is obviously before AOS, which points out that SHIELD’s job is also to investigate strange happenings (which could have heppened even before the current tv team was put together) and this could have been considered an ‘804’

Somehow i'm glad that we've got 3 director and their peculiar vision for each 3 movies.
In Dark World we got that viking and lotr vibe, the artistic direction and costumes were great, unfortunately Marvel frustrated Alan Taylor's vision and the movie went mediocre.
Taika Waititi, he revived the character that Joss Whedon made gray and boring, he refreshed totally the character and now we actually care about him. Visually he did an amazing job, the costumes, the locations, colors, soundtrack. What a delicious experience.
But here, we're talking about the first man to actually introduce a very difficult superhero and world to the big screen, Thor is the pioneer of these kind of character, such as Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.
Kenneth Branagh did an excelent job, his visuals were also great (still my favorite Asgard, with the sky turning the outer space in the distance), the shakespeare style was also just right for the character. The only kind of wrong thing were the costumes, too shiny, plastic, futuristic, power rangerish).
But, then again, i'm glad we've got 3 different visions, because i feel like those version and esthetics are in the comics, and it's good to explore them all.

Branagh doesn’t get enough credit for introducing one of the most difficult MCU heroes to translate on screen. And for the first big screen attempt he did a very solid job. Was it perfect? No. But he pulled it off in a way to make him an entertaining character with some great lore. It’s a shame that it took a multiple films to actually make Thor a GREAT [frick]ING CHARACTER (shoutout to Ragnarok)

We need more of this... even with Thor: Ragnarok... MCU Thor hasn't even come close to showcasing his full power... this Thor would give Thanos a run for his money..
