The Silver Surfer Won't Appear In THOR: LOVE & THUNDER, But It Sounds Like Beta Ray Bill & Loki Might!

Despite recent rumors that the Silver Surfer might make an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, Taika Waititi has now confirmed that the Sentinel of the Spaceways will not feature. Loki? He's playing coy!

Taika Waititi hosted a live commentary for Thor: Ragnarok tonight with special guests including Tessa Thompson and Mark Ruffalo, and while they did discuss the Marvel threequel sporadically as it played in the background, the director actually spent more time answering fan questions and sharing a few tidbits about the God of Thunder's next big-screen adventure.

Waititi didn't go into too much detail, but he did reveal that he's now on the "fifth or sixth draft" of the script and is still ironing a few things out. He also confirmed that the Silver Surfer would definitely not appear, but refused to comment on a possible role for Tom Hiddleston's Loki - who he had no idea was going to be killed off in Avengers: Infinity War.

Is Beta Ray Bill a possibility? Waititi admitted that he's a big fan, but said he's not sure the powerful alien will feature because things are "up in the air." The filmmaker went on to tease the scope of the movie, stating that it was ten times bigger than Ragnarok, and that "it felt like the film that was just a list of things a ten year-old would ask for and he’d said yes to everything."

Oh, and it sounds like there's a very good chance we'll see some Space Sharks, aka Starsharks! Fans shouldn't get their hopes up that "Fat Thor" will return, however, as Waititi seems to feel that's "done and over."

What do you guys make of Waititi's comments? Let us know in the usual place. Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters in 2022.
