Thor: Love and Thunder will bring Natalie Portman back as Jane Foster, while also dealing with her transformation into the new Thor if what we learned at Comic-Con last year was any indication.

During a recent interview, Chris Hemsworth shared his excitement for the movie, confirming that director Taika Waititi is "writing the script currently," while revealing that shooting begins in January 2021. Now, as he preps for his ninth appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it appears the actor is looking forward to bringing "something different" to the God of Thunder's world.

"[I'm] very excited to try to do something different, you know, the last three films we certainly pushed the envelope and created different versions of the character, and now people expect some dramatic changes," Hemsworth teased. "So we’ve got our work cut out in that sense."

Waititi was just what the Thor franchise needed, and it's undeniably thrilling to think what he might bring to the table with this next chapter, especially after the hero's recent trip to Sakaar.

I would love to see where Taika takes Thor next. Thor's journey has been fascinating so far. Probably one of the most tragic characters in the MCU.

@SnideCut - me too. Every movie since The Dark World has him seen go through so much. Wonder how Taika is gonna fold all that into the character Thor is post-Endgame

Iron Man hasn't really been through major changes throughout all of the films. They found the sweet spot and they stuck with it.
I just wish that they'd do the same for Thor. I don't need dramatic changes with each new appearance.
I felt that his Infinity War interpretation was the best we had. Serious and menacing but would still unintentionally be funny sometimes. Give me that again.

@Fares - I agree. Infinity War Thor is the best Thor.

@Fares - Yes! Infinity War Thor was the perfect MCU version. I wish they left it there. That was his sweet spot.

By "something different" he means the character will be dumber than ever and will be relegated to the shining of Valkyrie and Female Thor?

@BorjaHetfield - Thor was never dumb. A bit of a goof, maybe. But not dumb.
If anything, he's kind of a Rocky-like character. He's at his best when he's the underdog and works up to his full potential.

Please get that idiot of a director away from Marvel movies, Thor is a god, the god of thunder in fact, not some comedy character. If he wants to make films with laughs in them that fine just don’t do it with Thor.

@Spike101 - Bad news for you buddy...the last movie made lots of money. So Taika will def stay as director for this, and maybe the next movie. So there.

Thor 4 will open with a montage of Thor getting in shape alongside Quill. Quill got dusted(and brought back) while "one sandwich away from fat" and Thor is whole lot of jello. Thor will get fit real quick compared to Quill and then Quill strands Thor's buff ass somewhere out of jealousy, que the start of the movie.

We should be getting some updates (hoping for news on Bale’s role) around that time, which is exciting. And I’m intrigued by this “something different”.

Sort of off-topic: 200 days until Black Widow releases. Whether theaters are still around or it gets released on Disney+, I think we’ll definitely get to see it by then.

A very good change would be to do the Mighty Thor the way he really should be done, the way JACK KIRBY created him to be done! Marvel hasn't done that yet?!

Yeah, but we don't really need a change. Just go back to Infinity War Thor. The Russos got Thor, even if I wanted his eyepatch to stay. I know Hemsworth loves his goofy improv Thor, but not me.
