THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Star Christian Bale Sports A New Look As He Preps To Play Gorr The God Butcher

While Thor: Love and Thunder has been filming for quite some time now, we've finally received our first look at Christian Bale on set, sporting a drastically different look to play Gorr the God Butcher!

While it'll probably be a while before we get a proper look at Christian Bale suited up as Gorr the God Butcher in Marvel Studios' upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, a new batch of photos have surfaced revealing the Academy Award-winning star sporting a radically different look while enjoying a beach day.

Bale is no stranger to body transformations, drastically gaining and losing weight for a number of his biggest roles, including in the Dark Knight trilogy, The Machinist, The Fighter, American Hustle, and Vice.

This time, in addition to slimming down again, it looks like Bale will also be completely clean-shaven to play this take on the Marvel Comics villain. It remains to be seen if some prosthetics or MO-Cap technology will also be used to alter his appearance.

In addition to Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, the cast will also feature Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Academy Award-winner Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, 8x Academy Award-nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Taika Waititi as Korg.

Academy Award-winner Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth, and 3x Golden Globe-nominee Sam Neill will reprise their roles from the previous installment, while Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe will also make a fun cameo.

The Academy Award-winning Taika Waititi will return to the director's chair, utilizing a screenplay he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone GreatSweet/Vicious). Plot details are currently under wraps.

Thor: Love and Thunder hammers its way into theaters May 6, 2022.
