Tom Hiddleston Says Loki Will Be Quite Dismissive Of Doctor Strange In THOR: RAGNAROK; Talks Dynamic With Hela

We already know Thor brought Loki with him to Earth, but what will happen when the ultimate Trickster meets the Sorcerer Supreme? Tom Hiddleston recently commented on the matter, so come take a look!

Last year, Doctor Strange introduced a whole new world of the mystical arts to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this fall, we'll revisit the magical realm with the arrival of Thor: Ragnarok.

The post-credits sequence for the Scott Derrickson-directed film featured an unexpected first meeting between the God of Thunder, played by Chris Hemsworth, and the Sorcerer Supreme, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and as fun as the brief tag was, it was what we didn't see that was even more interesting: Stephen Strange's first encounter with the God of Mischief, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.

The end credits tag saw Strange allude to a less-than-ideal introduction to Loki, subtly acknowledging the immense threat he poses to Earth, and while we were able to see how he felt about the trickster, we didn't get to see the Loki's reaction to him - a scene likely saved for the upcoming Taika Waititi-directed sequel. Well, unsurprisingly, Loki won't be quite as taken with the good Doctor as his brother is.

On the recent press tour for Legendary's Kong: Skull Island, IGN sat down with Hiddleston and asked him about Loki's first thoughts on the new Sorcerer Supreme and judging by his response, it sure sounds like he'll be less than impressed: “I think he probably dismisses Strange. Yes, his sorcery is very impressive, but Loki’s been doing that for centuries so who cares." However, while he may be dismissive of Doctor Strange, it sounds like he'll share a very different dynamic with Cate Blanchett's Hela: "Hela is a different beast and full of surprises and actually might have been someone with whom at one time he could’ve gotten along, but the circumstances have changed.” It's hard not to wonder whether or not this might be a slight hint at Hela being Loki's daughter in the film, especially considering that in the comics, she's the daughter of a past incarnation of Loki that had already died during a previous Ragnarok.

Well since both deal in science (magic is merely science not sold at Radio Shack) Loki SHOULD have no problem handling an upstart with new weapons. However, Strange will prove to be cagier despite being outgunned.
