RICK AND MORTY'S Spencer Grammer Says The Show "Speaks To What Humanity Is Going Through Right Now"

RICK AND MORTY'S Spencer Grammer Says The Show "Speaks To What Humanity Is Going Through Right Now"

Among the popular celebrities that lend their voice talents to Adult Swim's animated sci-fi series Rick and Morty is Spencer Grammer. Check out what she recently had to say about the show by reading below!

One of the reasons that the widely-appreciated animated science fiction series Rick and Morty has amassed such a massive and intense fanbase is due to its smart writing and witty banter. Much like adult animation series that paved the way before it such as Futurama and Family Guy, Adult Swim's beloved series benefits from a strong creative team and the vocal talents of an impressive cast.

Hailing from co-creators Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Solar Opposites), the show features the vocal talents of Jurstin Roiland (Solar Opposites), Sarah Chalke (Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Spencer Grammer (Tell Me a Story), and a multitude of guest voice stars. Spencer Grammer, the daughter of Kelsey Grammer from Frasier and X-Men: The Last Stand, recently opened up about her feelings towards the show.

She certainly doesn't give any clues as to when fans can expect the long-awaited second half of Season 4 to hit Adult Swim, but she makes her thoughts on the matter known. Check out some of the comments that she made during a recent interview with Inverse

“Rick and Morty is the most fun show to work on, and I’ve always loved animation. To be able to voice a character on a show that I think is really, really smart and also very entertaining is the dream, right? There's something inherently truthful about Rick and Morty at its core that speaks to what humanity is going through right now. We are inundated with technology and information and media. We don't know what the future is going to hold for humanity when we can see everything and know anything at any given moment.”

Touching on the emotions that Rick and Morty induces, Grammer also promises that more great Summer-themed episodes are coming, though she can't say when.

“Rick and Morty's able to tap into those feelings of confusion and maybe even rage or depression and turn it all into a joke. The show also helps remind people that there’s still a family unit in this crazy universe, as dysfunctional as it may be. That's cathartic for an audience.

This season has a few really good Summer episodes. I've heard rumors about some next season, too! They'll be coming sooner than later. There's a lot of pressure for it to be a really excellent show. So why give the audience mediocre episodes? Let's take our time.”

What do you guys make of these comments from Rick and Morty's Spencer Grammer? Sound off below!

An animated series on adult-swim about the infinite adventures of Rick, a genius alcoholic and careless scientist, with his grandson Morty, a 14 year-old anxious boy who is not so smart. Together, they explore the infinite universes; causing mayhem and running into trouble.
