SUPERNATURAL Star Jensen Ackles Is Unrecognizable As He Reveals New Look For THE BOYS Season 3

Jensen Ackles is best known for playing Dean Winchester in Supernatural, but he's completely unrecognisable in this behind-the-scenes photo from the set of The Boys as work on season three continues.

If you follow Jensen Ackles, you'll know that the Supernatural alum was rocking a pretty awesome beard after finishing shooting the final season of The CW series. Now, Dean Winchester is behind him, and he's moving on to The Boys where he'll suit up as that twisted world's version of Captain America.

A few different characters have held the "Soldier Boy" mantle in The Boys comic book series, so it's unclear how he'll be portrayed in the show. It definitely sounds like Ackles will be playing a key role in season three, though, and his part is expected to be more than just a one-off cameo appearance.

Now, we have a behind the scenes photo showing just how different the actor will look when he suits up as the "hero." That beard makes Ackles damn near unrecognisable, and we can't help but wonder why Soldier Boy would be rocking such a dishevelled look. Perhaps he's been in hiding all this time? That would certainly explain why we haven't seen before now, anyway!

It's going to be a lot of fun to see what Ackles can do away from his role as Dean in Supernatural, and we recently got a first look at Soldier Boy's costume (from a distance, anyway).

Check out Ackles' new look below:
