The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has previously hinted that the upcoming third season of the Amazon Prime series would adapt the controversial Herogasm storyline, and he's now taken to Twitter to confirm that we'll see the massive superhero "gathering" during the sixth episode.

If you're unfamiliar with the source material, the Herogasm miniseries saw The Seven and most of the other supes meet up on an island to engage in some of the most debauched behaviour ever depicted in the comic book medium.

Writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson said they wanted to push the envelope as far as possible, and succeeded in drumming up a lot of controversy - even by the already risqué standards of the series.

Herogasm received backlash for several different reasons, but the show will likely tone down at least some of the horrendous shit that went on in the comic. One thing they will have no choice but to drop is Homelander tricking Soldier Boy into sleeping with him, because it's already been confirmed that Jensen Ackles will be playing a different take on the character; a John Wayne-like figure who was the "Homelander before Homelander."

What do you guys think? Looking forward to seeing Herogasm, or would you rather The Boys left that particular story arc alone?

Can’t wait for season 3!

On a off topic note, I have to say, this is the best live action Spider-Man suit I’ve ever seen. It’s from a fan film, but it’s honestly perfection:

@Nerdman3000 - Forgot to mention, but the fan film this suit is from is an upcoming one called Spider-Man Lotus.

I rewatched season 2 recently in a binge and IMO, it doesn't hold up. And I originally loved it during the weekly releases.

It feels like an unnecessarily slow burn up until episode 6, with unneeded sub-plots and unclear character motivations, then the writers realised they only had 2 episodes left and rushed to wrap it up (noticeable right away in ep 7s pacing).

Hopefully they make better use of the 8 episodes this time. I'm pretty sure they had more time to write/polish with COVID delaying everything anyway.

@Kurne - season 2 was a huge letdown for me. I think you summed it up very nicely.

I can't say I'm that giddy.
I appreciate that the show is an adaptation, and that means you gotta do things different than the books.
But there is no way one or even two episodes trying to "adapt" Herogasm are going to come anywhere close to the quality of the comic.
It's harder to deal with regarding The Boys than say, Batman or MCU characters because those are characters that have been around for decades with so much mythology that doesn't always line up. You gotta cut some corners there.
The Boys has a beginning, middle and end.
Season 2 made me realize that what I enjoyed about the comic was how perfect and vicious a parody of the entire pantheon of American superhero comics.
There's no way an amazon tv show is gonna capture that magic from the books.
