The Walking Dead comic series (which should be everyone reading this unless you want spoilers) are aware that leading man Rick Grimes is circling his deathbed after the events of the most recent issue.

The Walking Dead has led readers to believe one thing while actually planning to kill off another character, the fact that Image Comics is releasing a blank Variant cover option for this must mean it does have high importance.
As you can see from his following tweet, writer Robert Kirkman himself took to social media to ensure that fans are aware of exactly how important issue #192 is to the series.
If this is the final issue for the fans-favorite character who has led the series from day 1, having a Blank Variant will allow them to draw whatever they like to immortalize the importance of it.
