THE WALKING DEAD Season 10 Premiere Viewership Crumbles To A Disappointing Series Low

It looks like the once massively popular zombie series The Walking Dead is losing more and more viewers each year.

The series faced a decline during the premiere of Season 9, as well as in a subsequent episode near the end of the season, and it seems as though that trend is one that's set to continue. Sunday's Season 10 premiere episode, titled Lines We Cross, managed to amass only 4 million viewers. However, there may be other pertinent data to consider when looking at these numbers.

Deadline has pointed out that although these figures may seem dismal for the flagship series, The Walking Dead was also pulling in viewers via AMC Premiere. Fans who had signed up for the commercial-free version of the service were given access to Sunday's episode a whole week early, erasing the need to watch it again when it aired.

With Lauren Cohan confirmed to return and multiple other The Walking Dead spinoffs and films in various stages of development, AMC doesn't seem concerned about declining viewership... at least, not for the moment.

Check out the trailer for season 10, episode two below, and let us know what you think! Will you be tuning in?

In the second episode of Season 10 titled We are the End of the World, Alpha and Beta plan their next move against the survivors.

The Walking Dead Season 10 returns with episode 2 this Sunday October 13 on AMC.
