Well, we now know that The Hilltop is going to have its leader back in season nine because Lauren Cohan has confirmed that she will return for The Walking Dead season nine. Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus signed new deals earlier this year but the actress has been on the fence about returning while attempting to secure the same level of pay as her co-stars (or at least a pay rise).
Cohan's decision to sign up for ABC pilot Whiskey Cavalier also left her The Walking Dead future in doubt but during an appearance at CinemaCon to promote her new movie Mile 22, the actress said: "I’m going back. There’s a lot more Maggie story to tell." That makes sense based on how the character was left at the end of season eight as it would have made no sense for her to just vanish.
So, what should we expect from Maggie moving forward? "You know we’re not allowed to tell you anything, but it’s good," she teased. That answer was to be expected and it will definitely be interesting seeing what comes next for Maggie, especially as the character appears to be taking aim at Rick after his decision to spare Negan.
