ARROW Season 7 Adds SHADOWHUNTERS Star Katherine McNamara In A Pivotal Role

Arrow season seven continues to add new pieces to its ever-growing ensemble and the latest fresh face is former Shadowhunters star Katherine McNamara, who will be playing a pivotal role this season.

TV Line is reporting that Katherine McNamara has joined the cast of Arrow season seven in a recurring role as Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City. Further details are unavailable at this time, but her part is being described as pivotal and the report says she's currently only contracted to appear in the first half of the season, although that's subject to change.

The 22-year-old McNamara is best known for her leading role on the now-cancelled Freeform fantasy drama Shadowhunters. Her past credits also include playing Sonya in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

She's the latest fresh face to join the cast following Holly Elissa (Supernatural), Miranda Edwards (The Magicians), and Michael Jonsson (Van Helsing), who will each play one of the deadly Longbow Hunters. Colton Haynes, who plays Roy Harper, will also return as a series regular while Michael Jai White, Cody Runnels, and Vinnie Jones are slated to appear in at least the season premiere.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, former protégé Roy Harper, brilliant inventor Curtis Holt, street-savvy Rene Ramirez and meta-human Dinah Drake. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, forcing him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

I wonder if she will cross paths with Diaz and his buddies hunters in some way that affects the plot. Or if she going to end up being linked in a surprisingly way to someone else.

Some say she will be the new Speedy. Others that she will be the new Artemis. Personally I think it could the show's own version of Arrowette.

But she sure definitely won’t be Emiko Queen. (Wished they could think of someway to introduce her and also bring back Connor Hawke's actor)
