IGN is reporting that Stephen Lobo (Continuum; Supernatural) has been cast as Detective Jim Corrigan, a.k.a. the human host of the powerful cosmic entity known as The Spectre, for DC TV's upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event.

While the report does confirm that Lobo will appear as Detective Corrigan, it unfortunately can't confirm whether or not we'll also see him suit up as the Spectre. But considering the crucial role the character plays in the comics storyline of the same name and the "go big or go home" mentality The CW has adopted for the crossover, it's probably a safe bet that fans will indeed see him don the green cloak.

Following the announcement, executive producer Marc Guggenheim expressed a similar sentiment, teasing the Spectre's role in the coming battle, “Fans of the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic know the Spectre plays a pivotal role. We’re thrilled Stephen is our Jim Corrigan.

Production on arguably the most ambitious television crossover ever is expected to continue through the rest of the fall, as DC characters from Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Birds of Prey, Lucifer and Smallville unite to save the multiverse from the biggest threat it's ever seen.

The epic crossover will feature a ton of returning special guest stars from all across the multiverse, including Tom Welling as Clark Kent/Superman (Smallville), Erica Durance as Lois Lane (Smallville), LaMonica Garrett as The Monitor/Anti-Monitor, Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman (Earth-38), Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane (Earth-38), Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen/The Flash (Earth-90), Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex, Osric Chau as Ryan Choi/The Atom, Ashley Scott as Helena Kyle/Huntress (Birds of Prey), Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Kevin Conroy as future Bruce Wayne and Burt Ward in an undisclosed role.

Both Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow) and Tom Cavanagh (The Flash) will be pulling double (and triple) duty for their respective shows. Routh will suit up as both The Atom and Kingdom Come Superman, while Cavanagh is expected to play Pariah in addition to the latest iteration of Harrison Wells as well as the Reverse-Flash.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" begins with Supergirl on December 8, followed by Batwoman on December 9, The Flash on December 10 and concludes with an Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow double header on January 14, 2020.
