Deathstroke Returns In New Promotional Stills For ARROW Season 1 Episode 14: "The Return"

The CW has released a whole batch of promotional photos from next week's episode of Arrow featuring our first look at the highly anticipated return of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. Come check it out!

THE RETURN OF DEATHSTROKE AND TOMMY MERLYN - Malcolm (John Barrowman) puts Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) in a dangerous situation that lands them on Lian Yu with Oliver's former enemy, Deathstroke (guest star Manu Bennett). A flashback reveals when Oliver and Maseo (guest star Karl Yune) returned to Starling City to retrieve the Omega bio weapon, and despite being under strict orders from Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) not to reveal himself to anyone, Oliver looks in on his family, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (guest star Colin Donnell). Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Erik Oleson (#314).

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Finally. Maybe the show will stop sucking ass again. Season was terrible, season 2 was fantastic (thanks to Deathstroke) and season 3 so far has been pretty bad (though not as bad as 1). Only thing I was looking forward to was Atom suiting up and getting a spin off. And the "actress" playing Canary... Probably couldn't act to save her life. They killed off the wrong Canary.

Who reckons there's any chance that Olly and Thea might find themselves sent to Lian Yu to try and recruit Deathstroke to their cause (and in doing so resolve the issues which prompted Olly and Slade's deadly feud in Season Two)? If the Flash and Firestorm won't be available to battle Ra's al Ghul come the season finale, then Team Arrow are going to need all the help they can get in order to take down the League and in this respect, Slade Wilson certainly fits the bill.

@Gnyah123 We're in agreement there - Season Two set such a high benchmark that it was almost inevitable that Season Three would come off as inferior, but even so, the show's reliance on shock moments such as Sara's demise rather than the intricate emotional relationships which were developed over the course of last year's run comes close to rendering it in a similar light to how 'The Dark Knight Rises' looked to many post-'The Dark Knight'.
