Batwoman returns to The CW on January 17th, 2021, and the network has now released a new poster for the show's upcoming second season showcasing Javicia Leslie's new Caped Crusader.
Following the shock departure of Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, Leslie is set to take on the role of newly created character, Ryan Wilder. She also happens to be a lesbian, and takes over the mantle of Gotham City's Scarlet Knight after Kate's disappearance; if these recent plot details are any indication, though, the vigilante is going to have her hands full protecting her home.
Hush is impersonating Bruce Wayne, while the False Face Society continues attempting to take over Gotham. A new villain, Safiyah, is also setting her sights on the city for revenge.
It's hard to say whether fans of Batwoman will feel compelled to return to the series and follow a new lead, but Leslie appears to be a superb choice to inherit the mantle. She also looks perfect for the role if this poster is any indication, and another Black superhero on screen should be celebrated.
Season two of Batwoman also stars Javicia Leslie, Dougray Scott, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, and Camrus Johnson.
