Batwoman is set to return to The CW next year for its second season, and we now have a new look at Ryan Wilder suited-up as Gotham's Scarlet Knight in this first batch of official promo stills...

Batwoman is going to be a very different show when it returns to The CW next year. Ruby Rose has decided to hang up the cape and cowl, and that means Kate Kane is being written out of the series.

How her mysterious disappearance will be addressed remains to be seen, but when homeless martial arts expert, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), finds the Batsuit, she takes the mantle for herself. There's going to be an awful lot for the new Scarlet Knight to contend with, too, as Alice is still causing chaos in Gotham City and Bruce Wayne has finally returned home.

The only problem is, it's not actually Bruce Wayne; instead, it's Tommy Elliot/Hush with a new face, and while he's making himself at home in the Batcave, it appears everyone else knows something is up.

While it's great to see Batwoman embracing diversity in its second season, only time will whether fans are interested enough in Ryan Wilder's story to stick around. It looks pretty good so far, though!

So they are continuing the Hush storyline. Interesting.

Looking for feedback: I'm writing a comic-book of my own, there's a serial killer character named Hushaby (as in: lullaby) being tracked down by my vigilante protagonist.

Is that too much of a rip-off? Thanks

So will she still be homeless and Batwoman?

It's kinda hard to get behnd this show now, after all the drama. I'd rather re-watch Arrow S01 & S02, which I haven't seen again since it aired.

The only real plus I see in any of this is that we finally have the face of Bruce Wayne.

Hopefully it'll lead into a flashback sequence to see him in this

Hopefully.

@TheLight - Wow that is from Andy Poon, he is behind all of the designs for the Arrowverse's characters. I must've missed this one. It looks pretty neat.

@NinnesMBC - Yeah, this one's pretty epic. The suit for the show wasn't bad either, but they need to change that cowl more to this.

Those pics should put to rest the rumors that they were getting rid of the "Hush now looks like Bruce" plot that was left off as the S1 cliffhanger just because Kate would no longer be the main Batwoman anymore, because that person with a gun inside the Batcave is Warren Christie as Bruce Wayne. It makes me happy to see it'll continue.

Crossing fingers Warren Christie stays around in some capacity. ;)

Javicia's Batwoman suit looks good there, but I am curious if she answers to Jacob's calling with the Bat-signal in some of the other pictures.

I hope that improvised Batmobile can get upgraded throughout the Season too.

Thought that was Brett Dalton at first.
