After five fun (and borderline bats**t crazy) seasons, Gotham brought its story to a fine close and finally introduced the hero everyone's been waiting half a decade to see.

Ultimately the series finally opted to keep the focus on the characters fan have grown to know and love over the past few years and chose not to reveal the Batman, in all of his glory, until the hour's final moments. However, the scene was definitely a treat and delivered the ultimate payoff for fans everywhere.

GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer and writer Bruno Heller and executive producers Danny Cannon and John Stephens, GOTHAM follows the rise of Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Beginning in Winter 2019, GOTHAM will air its fifth and final season, wrapping up this beloved series in a farewell event that will focus on Bruce Wayne’s (David Mazouz) transformation into the caped crusader.

Gotham features:
Ben McKenzie as James Gordon
Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock
David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne
Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth
Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins
Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin
Erin Richards as Barbara Kean
Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle
Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/The Riddler
Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox
Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean/Cyrus Gold
Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan
Alexander Siddig as Ra's al Ghul
Peyton List as Ivy Pepper/Poison Ivy
David W. Thompson as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
Anthony Carrigan as Victor Zsasz
BD Wong as Hugo Strange
Benedict Samuel as Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter
Cameron Monaghan as Jeremiah Valeska/Joker
Shane West as Eduardo Dorrance/Bane

Gotham had ended.

He looks like a cosplayer. I'd score the finale probably a 5/10.

@MrCamw1 - It's not a movie quality suit, but its good, its also a 1st suit, so you'd expect for Bruce to upgrade it over time (even if we will never see those upgrades) I thought the finale was good, it doesnt feel like a finale, but it wasn't suppose to, it says it in the title The Beginning, we had the end of Gotham's story last week. Was hoping for a little more Batman, but I always expected him to be kept in the shadows, its Gordon's story, and Batman is suppose to be mysterious and in the shadows. Plus at least we saw him in the suit, unlike Smallville

@dracula - I'll agree it wasnt like the Smallvile tease. And I understand this is a Gordon story but with the finale (and the show as a whole) theyve given Gordon Batmans problems to the point where I find Bullock a deepers character than him. Now with that dont let me ruin anything for ya since you enjoyed the ep and more power to ya for it. However for me it's an unofficial Batman pilot playing as a finale and in that regards it doesnt work for me.

@MrCamw1 - I get what you mean, it does feel more like I pilot than a finale. the way I see it its a prequel, if the finle actually felt like a finale, then what would come after, you know if everything were to be fine in Gotham in the end, then what would batman have to do

@MrCamw1 - You know one of my problems with smallville is that it feels too final, at the end of the show Clark has pretty much finished off Brainiac, Doomsday, Zod, Darkseid and even Lex(before he was brought back to life), like seriously who is Superman suppose to fight now, the blur took care of everyone. Even the smallville season 11 comics, with all the major villains gone, they had to just cross over with other heroes and take on their villains

Jesus... I’ve seen better cosplay costumes than this. What was their budget?
dracula
dracula - 4/26/2019, 4:57 PM
@NOID - Well it was only for 1 episode and it was only for 1 clear shot, so probably not much, for a first batsuit its pretty good, he has only been in Gotham a few weeks, it makes sense that he wouldnt have a perfect suit right away

Oh wow....that's really really bad. Like Jesus. Almost would have been better if they went the Season 1 of Titans method. Where we never see his face. Would have helped him stay threatening.

I get that it's the series finale and the ratings aren't super important for them, but they really should have pushed the season break an extra week just to avoid competing with Endgame's first night.

@Reeds2Much - Well its not up to them, its up to fox and pretty sure they dont care, they have wanted an excuse to cancel gotham for a while

Don't they own past costumes? Can't they just hire someone the same size as Affleck and put him in that costume?

For cripes sake, that looks bad.

@BackwardGalaxy - my thoughts exactly. the batman forvert suit, actually doesnt look half bad painted in matte black

@BackwardGalaxy - Can't they just hire someone the same size as Affleck and put him in that costume?

Nope. Merchandising is an important revenue stream and every different design is a load of new collectibles. Costumes aren't even reused in a movie's sequel. Blame the '70s.
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 4/26/2019, 4:55 PM
@BackwardGalaxy - for legal reasons, WB wouldn’t allow them to use a past suit
dracula
dracula - 4/26/2019, 5:01 PM
@BackwardGalaxy - They asked for a movie costume, Warner Brothers said no. For a costume that is only used in 1 episode and only clearly seen in 1 shot, this looks a lot better than you would expect. Plus at least we wore the suit unlike Tom Welling in the smallville finale. Also Ben Affleck's suit doesnt fit Gotham's aesthetic
NicolausCopernicus
NicolausCopernicus - 4/26/2019, 5:03 PM
@dracula - didnt they use superman returns suit in smallville? at least the top part
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 4/26/2019, 5:09 PM
@Reeds2Much - But....that's obviously not applicable here. Because nobody is going to make Gotham Batman action figures or merch. Gotham basically has no merch.

Also, Smallville reused the Superman Returns suit so it's not uncommon in these prequel shows to reuse costumes.
