Last night, we brought you a behind-the-scenes snap of Cameron Monaghan donning the classic clobber of The Joker, and now we have another shot from the set of Gotham season 5 which gives us a glimpse of David Mazouz in what appears to be a prototype version of the Batsuit.

This is a far cry from The Dark Knight's usual cape and cowl combo, but the armor-plated outfit could well be modified into something more recognizable by the end of the season. We're assuming the earmuffs are not an official part of the ensemble, but you never know with this show!

The image is copyrighted, so click HERE to take a look, but we also have another shot of Wayne accompanied by some familiar faces.

Executive producer John Stephens has previously confirmed that the final season of Gotham will will see Bruce "go all the way" in his journey to becoming the iconic Caped Crusader.

"We are gonna get to see him make the final steps, you know? We are not gonna leave anything on the table or whatever the phrase is. We're gonna put it all on the table, take it off of the table, yeah. I mean, there are not going to be any steps for Bruce Wayne to take to becoming Batman that don't get taken this season. We're gonna see him go all the way."

Gotham season 5 still doesn't have an official premiere date, but we're expecting an announcement very soon.

@bs77 - So we're gonna have a 14 year old Batman? Lol great.

batmbl - 10/27/2018, 8:12 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Considering he was 12 when his parents died and this is 5 years later that would put him at least 17, but nice try to troll. You might want to have a few math skills before trying to weigh in. In real life David Mazouz is 18.

@batmbl - Batman fought crime at 17????
Didn't Bruce go missing for like 7 years before Batman made his 1st appearance?
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 10/27/2018, 8:27 AM
@DVonShakari - do you see Batman? This is Bruce figuring shit out. He has been trained by Raz already in this show, and if you see youngsters being trained as skilled crime fighters as being odd in the Batman universe, you know nothing about Batman lore. You need only look at every Robin ever. Damien Wayne is much younger and is a skilled assassin and experienced crime fighter. Just stop with the thoughtless trolling.

@CorndogBurglar - the actor is 18, and Damien Wayne was a skilled assassin and crime fighter much, much younger. Look at every Robin ever. There's a history of young crime fighters in Batman lore. So I dont get why it's ok in the comics but everyone gotta talk shit if Gotham does it.

@DVonShakari - I never said anything about him as Batman at 17. Just point out they hypocrisy of CordogBurglar and not doing bath to just troll. It's been revealed that there will be a time lapse at the end of this final season to see him be Batman.

To ArthurFleck's point every sidekick Batman has ever had started out younger than Mazouz is right now, so why is him fighting crime a bad thing? Like a lot people have said on this site in the past this show is a bit of a Elseworld type telling so things are expected to not follow canon completely.

@batmbl - Bruce may actually be as old as 19 seeing as his official age in Season 1 was 14.

@batmbl - Wow, someone sure got their panties all twisted pretty quickly over a simple joke.

I didn't know how old he was, I was simply saying 14 because that's about how old this kid looks. Regardless of how old he is supposed to be in the show, he will look ridiculous in a full blown Batman costume and it would be next to impossible for anyone to take him seriously.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 10/27/2018, 11:55 AM
@ArthurFleck - I'm not saying crime fighters aren't young in Batman lore. Not at all.

But let's be serious here. Batman is known for having a sense of presence and intimidation about him. This kid will look silly in a full blown bat-costume because he looks so young.

It doesn't matter if its Elseworlds or not. Batman as a teenager just doesn't carry the same weight as what everyone understands Batman to be.

@CorndogBurglar - he’s 17, almost 18 and the final episode is going to jump forward 10 years, so he will be 27 or 28 when he becomesbatman
dracula
dracula - 10/27/2018, 12:02 PM
@DVonShakari - that is going to happen, the 9th episode is going to end with him leaving then the next episode will jump forward 10 years when he returns
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 10/27/2018, 12:16 PM
@dracula - Again, the actual age doesn't really matter. If he's really 17 for 18 it doesn't matter because he still looks super young and has a babyface.

Having said that, if they time jump forward 10 years to show him in the costume for the first time then that would actually be cool.

I still stand by my opinion that this show should have always been an interpretation of the Gotham Central series. A series about the police department where Batman exists, but only shows up very briefly in certain stories. They could have played off the different feelings certain police officers have about Batman, and told really interesting crime stories every episode. This would have also allowed them to make a Batman show and only show him from the shadows. They wouldn't have even needed to ever show his face.

I just don't know why they decided to go with this.

@CorndogBurglar - My panties were never in a bunch, but apparently yours got that way with my reply to your trolling. It's amazing that you're trying to turn everything around on the people responding to your post, but I guess that's what they typical trolls do. Deflect...Deflect...Deflect...
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 10/27/2018, 3:33 PM
@batmbl - Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not wrong. Your sources don't really prove anything as they were written by random people on the internet. Not any official Gotham products/media.

The Gotham Tie-in novel Dawn of Darkness gives Bruce's age as 14 in Season 1. Also, we know Bruce turned 18 in season 4. So he would have to be at least 14 in season 1.
ArthurFleck
ArthurFleck - 10/27/2018, 8:33 PM
@CorndogBurglar - I get you, but yet again he isn't Batman yet. He is just a young vigilante. I doubt we will see Batman at all until the finale which is a 10 year time jump. So your point about Batman needing to be an intimidating presence while valid, in this case is invalid because he isn't Batman yet. So it's a non issue at this stage of his development. In fact, if you think about it, it almost makes more sense why Batman would be open to training and allowing kids to be his sidekick knowing full well what he himself was capable of at that age.

I mean he already had a prototype suit at the end of season 3 and into season 4. I imagine the last shot of the finale will be Bruce in an actual Batman costume, on the edge of a rooftop looking over his city.

Riddler looking good as always.

@MalseMarcel -

Yeah they said they didnt wanna do the cliche Smallville ending with just the final shot being Bruce in the Batman suit, they knew audiences would feel cheated, so they wanted to really give fans the big pay off by making the entire last episode a time jump and show what everyone has become. A legendary finale.
