Whatever they do with Tommy Elliot / Hush (which will obviously be a radically different origin than the comics), it can't be more disappointing than Batman: Arkham Knight.

How the massive cliffhanger got resolved:

We haven't seen much of him in these last few episodes. I'm sure he'll turn into Hush at some point. It could be cool if Hush showed up as a main villain, and the plot twist is that it's someone other than Tommy Elliot.

@Darkknight2149 - Tommy Elliot has to start envying the freedom that Bruce enjoys as an orphan.

@Repian -
Good theory, since the whole scenario regarding Thomas Wayne saving his mother doesn't come into play on this show.

On a related subject, if Tommy Merlyn ever comes back as a villain on Arrow, I wouldn't mind him being Hush as a big bad. Several Batman villains have already been on the show, and there a number of similarities between Tommy Merlyn and Thomas Elliot, including:

-Both have the first name "Tommy"
-Both were best friends to their respective heroes (Batman and Green Arrow)
-Both were believed dead, before being revealed as a villain
-Both hated their parents for cutting them off the family fortune
-ETC

Plus, having him be the second Dark Archer (like in The New 52) would be boring because we've had enough archer villains. Even Prometheus was an archer, to an extent.

I can also imagine them going the Arkham / Heart of Hush route, where Tommy Merlyn gets a surgeon to reconstruct his face to look exactly like Oliver Queen. Imagine a surreal scene on the show, where Hush and Green Arrow are fighting, Arrow removes the bandages, and its his own face underneath. That would also be a cool scene to see in a Batman film, because it would make everyone who isn't familiar with those storylines go "WTF?!?"

@Darkknight2149 - And for Bruce to get involved in the investigation, Tommy's parents have to die like Bruce's parents. murdered in an alley by a mysterious gunman who came out of the shadows.
