Ok, Unrelated but batman stuff, just finished reading twitter pages and God comicbook sites are too over-reacting, everyone says it is for the best, guy can't direct, star, produce and write the movie man. Also Affleck has not even officially been interviewed to state some of the going ons.

@RasAlGhul - I think the fact of the matter is that its another contentious loss for the universe. Anyway you put it, its a letdown. Ben is a talented director who's made a name for himself these recent years in the director's chair. The DCEU was already contending with doubt and controversy, but Affleck directing Batman was the glitter of hope even most detractors believed in.

He had already been wavering when it came to his commitment but he would pepper that waffling with reassuring comments every now and again. So folks kept hope alive. But this is some people's worst nightmare and its come true. He left. This was a meme, a joke made by rampant fanboys, "Ben will leave the director's chair, you watch", and now its reality.

The DCEU takes blow after blow and has yet to find this steady ground to stand on, where they're a well oiled machine and everything is going according to plan. Something always mucks everything up. I think folks desire stability. Marvel knows where they're headed and everything runs smoothly. Star Wars too. Its a well run machine over there. The Harry Potter franchise too.

People want that for this universe. Even though its in its infancy, I think the fact that it still lacks a thorough direction is troubling. People like to know, at least, where the journey they're taking is headed. Some sort of inclination.

@ComicsBornAndBred - More than anything, I look back to the interview about Live by Night. The question about what he learned about working on a big budget film. With Argo, Gone Baby Gone, The Town, etc. he didn't have a huge budget pressure. Now with Batman and having to do it all with a big budget it became too ambitious a task. I think Ben will have a big hand in who takes over. Someone he can trust.

@Nightmare - Ben seems to be a guy who thrives directing smaller budgeted films maybe.

I think it'll be Gavin O'Connor.

Sounds like homage to the Thing. Should be interesting

@BlackStar25 - Funny, I remember the same type of comparison being made when Parasite debuted last year.

Can't wait for his return btw.

Did anyone else read Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles growing up?
