Production Wraps On CBS'S SUPERGIRL Pilot Episode.

The cast and crew of the upcoming, live action Supergirl series have taken to Twitter to share the news that the pilot has wrapped shooting.

Supergirl may not be debuting till next season but the pilot has completed shooting. Melissa Benoist (Whiplash) leads the new series as the Krypton born heroine who learns to embrace her powers at the age of 24, having spent her prior years on Earth under the protection of the Danver family. CBS has already comitted to a full season order so be sure to keep checking CBM for a debut date. The Supergirl pilot centers on Kara Zor-El, who was born on the planet Krypton, and escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been taken in by a foster family, the Danvers, who taught her to be careful with the extraordinary powers that she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. The pilot stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Calista Flockhar, Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, and Laura Benanti with Faran Tahir.
