When it was first revealed that Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olsen was going to be suiting up as Guardian on Supergirl, not all fans were on board, especially as it’s quite the departure from the Jimmy seen in the comic books.

Yet, the show has managed to win some over with their take on Superman’s pal, including director and longtime comic book fan Kevin Smith. Not only is the director a fan of the CW’s take on the character, but as he revealed on Twitter he has recently become interested in directing an episode focused on the hero, and he is already has an "idea for a wicked story."

According to Smith’s tweet, this inspiration came after watching the most recent episode of Supergirl, which saw Olsen share much of the episode’s focus as he dealt with the weight of being a black superhero and the possibility of revealing his identity.

While Smith’s comments shouldn’t be taken as a sign that he will direct an episode centered around Guardian, given his past work on the show and on The Flash, it is very strong possibility.

So, what do you folks think of a Guardian-centric episode directed by Kevin Smith? Is it something you would be interested in?

I just finished season 2. Man, I really like this show, minus some of the agenda pushing bullshit. Great performances all around and Melissa Benoist is perfect as Supergirl. I also appreciate how much love they give to Martian Manhunter. I hope season 3 is good.

After the winter break, instead of watching the CW shows, I've been watching old Gundam series from the 80's.

I've never had fewer regrets in my life.

I think that they should do something no one expects. Introduce Darkseid in the Supergirl show and then have Superman pop up to fight him...but here is the thing...give Superman a Green Lantern Power Ring which will make him almost omnipotent.

@Forthas - LMAO, because that's what SUPERGIRL is all about...empowering men!

The last two episodes of Supergirl have been a surprising and welcome step up in quality, especially last week's. Hope they keep it up for the rest of the season.

DC's "mythologies" are all messed up in these CW TV shows. Their characters always comes across as less coherent and interesting than their comic book counterparts.

They managed to [frick] up in the TV and cinema.
