AQUAMAN Director James Wan Doesn't Know Or Understand Why SWAMP THING Was Cancelled

Following recent comments from DC Universe, which provided disappointed fans with little comfort, producer James Wan (Aquaman) has chosen to express his thoughts on the early cancellation of Swamp Thing.

It's been less than a week since Swamp Thing was cancelled, and while the DC Universe recently commented on this shocking development, their statement didn't provide a reason for why the series was axed and ultimately did little to assuage the disappointment of fans.

However, it now seems viewers aren't the only ones to be heartbroken by the news, as Aquaman director James Wan, who was also acting as a producer on the show, took to Instagram to express his confusion over the decision.

"Don’t really know or understand why #Swampthing was cancelled, but I can tell you this — all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this," Wan wrote before going on to ask fans to continue watching the series. "Really proud of everyone’s hard work. Go watch episode 2, and immortalize these 10 episodes. Swampy deserves it."

Swamp Thing was only the third live-action adaptation to come out of the DC Universe streaming service, and even though we don't truly know what led to the show's end, it doesn't appear as if the platform's plans for future original series, like Star Girl, have been impacted by this event.

AT&T trying to piss off WB's new golden boy - the guy who gave them a billion dollar fish man film and launched the super successful Conjuring universe. These execs are a bunch of fools, especially since it turns out - after initial reports claimed it was - the budget was never the issue, and it's just execs being out of touch.
Was expecting a bad Swamp Thing show after Titans, but Doom Patrol and this showed just how good these shows could be under the right guidance. RIP Swampy, we barely knew ye, but the two episodes you've given us so far were incredibly fun.

To anyone on the fence, like I was initially before they showed off footage, this set-piece was a lot of fun, and reminded me of John Carpenter's The Thing in the best ways:

I don't have the streaming app but this looked like a comic book show done right. It's a shame when anyh show is canceled prematurely especially one that looked to be so faithfull to the comics.

AT&T executives did not like the direction of Swamp Thing! And I agree with them!

We'll just look at it like a 10 part mini series

@Kevwebsz - 10 part mini series with an intentionally ambiguous ending?

I'm still kind of confused as to why DC Daily is a thing.
