The Flash, Barry Allen receives an upgrade to his suit.
Yesterday, due to a surprise photo leak, we had our first look at the new outfit that Barry will be wearing in season 5, onethat Barry will possibly store in his new Flash ring.
The photo showed Grant Gustin at an apparent costume testing for a protoytpe version of what will be his new outfit. The
comic-accurate suit ditches the typical leather for a spandex-type material that is much more of a vibrant red than the previous Flash suits.
The leak of the photo was very unexpected and surprised no one more than Gustin. What was worse than the leak itself, however, was the amount of online judgement and vitriol that Gustin received about his appearance, with people body shaming him for being too thin and lacking the appropriate physique for the new suit.
Gustin took to his
Instagram account to share a long and strongly worded response to the numerous people that had criticized his body. The post speaks for itself... check it out below:
Gustin also posted a video to his
Instagram story in which he reveals his reaction to the surprise photo and curses out the person that leaked it. It is obvious to see that Gustin has been trying to process what happened. He even seems to tease that his days on social media, or at least
Instagram, could be numbered after this negative experience:
