SPOILERS: The Season 4 Premiere Of THE FLASH Has A Title Sure To Be Familiar To Comic Book Fans

The Flash starts shooting today and the title of the season premiere has now been revealed! However, it's one which drops some hints about both Barry Allen's fate and a major comic book storyline...

In the closing minutes of The Flash's third season, Barry Allen sacrificed himself by entering the Speed Force to save Central City and the world from being destroyed. Someone had to take the place of Savitar and, as a result, the Scarlet Speedster was forced to say goodbye to his friends and family.

Common sense says Barry will find his way home by the end of the premiere and things will quickly go back to normal ("Flashpoint" infuriatingly lasted for just a single episode), but the title of the episode still leaves us with plenty to think about. As you can see below, it's called "The Flash Reborn," a title which should bring back memories of a story penned by Geoff Johns named "The Flash: Rebirth."

That brought The Fastest Man Alive back into the land of the living after his apparent demise and it makes sense on a number of levels as it's easy to imagine us getting a new and invigorated Flash after his time spent trapped in the Speed Force. Perhaps he'll finally be getting an updated costume!

See this is my problem with the Flash. There's no real stakes and no real consequences. Last year, Flashpoint lasted 1 episode, there was no point in even doing it, it was going to be fixed so quickly. Then we sent Barry into the speed force and he's coming back in....the first episode.

Wow. If these writers had some balls he wouldn't come back for at least the first 5. Hell I'd make him come back in the big cross over. What's the point if he comes back the first episode. We won't even have the whole "Ahh Barry I missed you" moment. Hell it's the same problem with BvS and JL. Supes comes back in the next movie so it doesn't have weight

It's a good title that IMO not just rings bells to that run from almost 10 years ago by Geoff Johns as Josh said but also to the current Rebirth storyline going on.

Then again we just have the title itself and without context we can speculate from the most logical things to the most illogical ones. The city has shown it's appreciation to Flash and Kid Flash a few times: from S2's "Flash Day" to Flash toys, Flash coffees at Jitters and even that sign that welcomes you to Central City calling it "Home of The Flash and Kid Flash".

So it's within the realm of possibility that the city might be cooking up something that plays with the words Flash and "reborn".
