THE FLASH: Barry Trains His Daughter In The New Promo For Season 5, Episode 2: "Blocked"

The Flash is back and it's hardly missed a step as Barry and Iris met their time-traveling daughter who shared a number of interesting details about the future, including some bad news for her father.

After an exciting premiere, next week's installment will see Barry (Grant Gustin) continue to build a relationship with his future daughter Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) by training her on how to become a better speedster. However, while Nora seems to be perfectly fine with her father, almost never leaving his side, it seems that her dynamic with Iris (Candice Patton) is about to get a little frosty.

Meanwhile, next week's hour will also pit our heroes up against both the big bad Cicada (Chris Klein) and a mysterious new meta named Vanessa Jansen (Erin Cummings).

CHRIS KLEIN JOINS "THE FLASH" - As Barry (Grant Gustin) helps his daughter, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), become a better speedster, he and Team Flash also track down a meta stealing high-tech weapons, only to cross paths with a new foe named Cicada (Chris Klein), who is hunting the very same meta with nefarious intent. Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

HeavyMetal4Life - 10/9/2018, 6:53 PM An okay episode. Better than the premiere for season 4 but could have been stronger. First half was pretty boring. Excited to see more of Cicada. The good: - Ralph - negative tachions - foreshadow of King Shark vs Grodd - Barry still missing 25 years later in the future - Flash ring, new flash suit (which looked good in live action) - Barry, Wally and Nora teaming up and phasing the plane - Barry imitating Harry, that whole flashback - XS outro - Cicada introduction (best part of the episode) The bad: - the complete, jarring 180 in Nora's behavior from season 4 - childish dialogue, interactions, and drama - "drunk" Cisco - Iris and Nora dynamic at times The stupid: - Iris questioning Barry's concern for the timeline - Barry's inability to defeat a villain and have basic intellect in field - Barry disregarding concern for the timeline Login to report abuse
