THE FLASH Photos Offer A Depressing Look At The Scarlet Speedster's Future
When Barry pays a visit to a future where Iris West has been murdered by Savitar to find a way to stop the villain, what he finds isn't good. Here's a look at some official images from the episode...
The Fastest Man Alive has made many visits to the past, but in the next episode of The Flash, Barry Allen will be visiting the future. What he finds there isn't good, though, especially as this is a timeline where Iris West has been murdered by Savitar and Barry has subsequently given up being a hero.
"It’s a future where Iris has been killed, and everyone is changed because of it," Candice Patton tells TV Line. "You see this older version of Barry Allen that hasn’t really ever gotten over the death of Iris West." Grant Gustin adds, "He’s in shambles." That's going to be interesting to see, as is the fact that The Flash star Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells) is actually going to be at the helm of this episode.
Barry (Grant Gustin) travels to the future to find out Savitar’s still unknown identity in the hopes of saving Iris (Candice Patton). Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends, who, following the death of Iris, have become very different people, profoundly impacted by their showdown with Savitar. It will be up to Barry to infuse a sense of hope back into the team, as he proves to be hero his future friends have been waiting for. Meanwhile, back in 2017, the hunt for Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) continues. Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Carina Adly MacKenzie.
