I stopped watching this show a long time ago.
But from the looks of it, it seems like a parody of itself. The costume, set pieces and the actors' over expressive reactions.
The tone shift between the two scenes is something else.
One could easily fit into NCIS and the other into Legends.

Hate this Elongated Man/Plastic Man hybrid. He's Ralph Dibny but they call him Plastic Man and he wears Plastic Man's colors and goggles but has the Elongated Man body suit.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I dont think the GA would know the difference between the Elongated man and Plastic man if you asked, so doing a hybrid of the two is a good solution

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - The general public are actually much more knowledgeable of Plastic Man than Elongated Man, especially the people who grew up in the 40s and 50s. Besides, you do know the Plastic Man name was a joke, right? Dibny even said no.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I'm sure they're going to give him the "Elongated Man" name-- probably even in this EPISODE, given that the title is "The Elongated KNight Rises"-- but you've gotta admit, from a storytelling point of view, that's a tough name to come to organically.

I mean, "Elongated Man"? That is not, and should not be, the first name that comes to mind when you have a guy with stretchy powers. That's, like, the fifth name you come to when you start running out of ideas. At best, it sounds like a dirty joke. So if they're gonna use it, they're gonna have to work up to it... and that's gonna take a bit of creativity.

@BlackIceJoe - I thought for sure they would have gone with this one... WTH!!! And the material... It could have been a Spider-man type spandex with accents and padding, but the one he has on looks stupid for a man that stretches

Identity Crisis made me care about Elongated Man. A lot of people don't like that story, but I loved it.
