Confirming recent rumors, the official Titans Twitter account has revealed that Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow, will be introduced during the upcoming third season of the HBO Max series.

The classic Batman villain will be played by Angel and Mad Men alum Vincent Kartheiser. This take on the character is described as "an inmate at Arkham Asylum who used to terrorize Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias."

We've seen several animated and live-action incarnations of the Prince of Panic over the years, with Cillian Murphy appearing as Crane in all three Christopher Nolan Batman movies, and Charlie Tahan portraying the baddie on Fox's Gotham.

We found out earlier this year that actress/musician Savannah Welch (Tree of Life, Boyhood) will play Barbara Gordon, while Damaris Lewis will also debut as the villainous Blackfire.

They join returning cast members Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Kory Anders, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth, Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan, Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Conor Leslie as Donna Troy, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall, Joshua Orpin as Superboy, Chelsea Zhang as Rose Wilson, Chella Man as Jericho, Drew Van Acker as Aqualad, Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake and Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne.

Titans season 3 will air on the HBO Max streaming service. Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti will once again serve as executive producers along with Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter

Recently watched Mad Men, great show.

His character was far from a highlight of Angel but he gave a good performance.

This show needs to slow down. Its only 13 episodes at most per season, 1 big bad is enough. Should have just gone with Cadmus or Deathstroke, not both, or at least connect the plot, like maybe Slade being sent after Connor before he learns of the Titans reforming.

No possible way to connect a Blackfire arc to a Red Hood arc.

Neither CADMUS or Deathstroke got enough screen time

Now that's a good choice. He can definitely do creepy and menacing. With that being said, I hope they better juggle the core cast this upcoming season. Last season felt like members of the team got thrown to the wayside.

I just finished Mad Men a few weeks ago, and Pete was definitely one my favorite parts. This is great casting, I just hope that the show doesn't make him ham it up too much.

The amount of characters in this is insane. I keep forgetting that Tim has been announced. This Batman really doesn't waste time replacing Robins haha. Tim is overall my favorite Robin but I was really hoping they'd develop Jason's relationship with Conner more but I guess now we'll get Tim/Conner which I don't think we've ever seen outside comics.

"Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan!?" Based on those names I'm not sure which is the actor and which the character.

This show is All-Star Batman & Robin on steroids. aka what if everything that happened in the story was devoid of logic but filled with edge.

Good casting, doesn't change the fact that the show is still lackluster

Is this a Titans show or another Batman wannabe? How does Scarecrow fit in with Blackfire and Red Hood already supposedly being the big bads? Once again they're doing entirely too much.

Feige, hurry up and steal Anna Diop to play Storm so I can stop watching. 😩

That's not a bad casting choice actually.
