Isn't that Winterfell? Just the regular North?

@teefurtree - There was no Winterfell. It does look like some kind of civilization, but apparently it's all Wildling land.

5000 years? Damn, these idiots in Westeros didn’t make ANY technological advances in all this time? They are just stuck in the dark ages?
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 6/18/2019, 3:22 PM
@CaptainMexico - It's definitely in the weeds, but I wonder what kind of effect it would have on society if the seasons were completely unpredictable like in Game of Thrones.

So much of timekeeping and mathematics and culture arose as a byproduct of trying to interpret the weather and celestial phenomena. We know that Game of Thrones has comets (and I didn't remember it, but the wiki says they have a single large moon). But no indication of other planets that would spur on investigations of why they wander through the night sky.

Having random seasons that last years and years could potentially really [frick] up social organization and the capacity for planned institutions, retarding cultural evolution.

@CaptainMexico - they built an iron throne out swords and a contraption to allow paraplegics to ride a horse...🤦🏾‍♂️
Rosraf
Rosraf - 6/18/2019, 6:36 PM
@CaptainMexico - Yeah. Since they are setting it 5,000 years in the past (how long is a year in Westeros anyway?), one thing I hope for is that they really account for more primitive technology, clothing, etc., and stay consistent with it. -Based on that photo, I should probably plan on disappointment.

Despite the massive hissy fit thrown online over the last season, I’m down for a spin-off.

Spock0Clock - 6/18/2019, 3:16 PM
@Chewtoy - I just dig medieval fantasy. Game of Thrones is a little light on adventure, but it still scratches that itch. (And if the Witcher gets butchered, then it's probably going to be the best option available.)

Making a prequel about the White Walkers after Season 8 gave them such a disappointing pointless ending?

We know how it ends, she dies and he goes north. Hard pass.
Lostcause

@Deagle - Don't be so sure...from my understanding, all that is written about Nissa Nissa's lore was not all truth and more fable than anything.
Lostcause
Lostcause - 6/18/2019, 3:27 PM
I'm stoked!!! I love the Watts! Nissa Nissa's soul is Lightbringer. She sparks the flame of Azor Ahai 100 day weapon. Nissa Nissa's cry of anguish and ecstasy left a crack across the face of the moon. So they say. I'm pretty sure she will be considered the first priestess of R'hllor. The story tells me she won't be around for too many seasons. Although, it has been 7000 years or more sine the act happened. We will get the true story soon!!!!

"HBO has shared a production still featuring a mysterious character on horseback, about to traverse the frozen wastes ahead of him."

That's Arya returning to Winterfell in Season 7. It even says so in the URL.
