HIS DARK MATERIALS Has Been Given An Early November Premiere Date On HBO

HBO is really packing the heat this fall with Watchmen set to debut in late October & the His Dark Materials adaptation, which stars Dafne Keen & James McAvoy, getting a premiere date just two weeks later.

HBO officially announced today that the upcoming live-action adaptation of Philip Pullman's acclaimed young adult novel series, His Dark Materials, will premiere exclusively on their network on Monday, November 4 at 9:00 p.m. EST.  

The series follows a young heroine named Lyra, played by Logan breakout Dafne Keen, who is a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust.

In addition to Keen, the cast will also feature James McAvoy (Dark Phoenix) as Lord Asriel, Ruth Wilson (Luther) as Mrs. Coulter, Lin Manuel-Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns) as Lee Scoresby, Clarke Peters (The Wire) as The Master of Jordan College, James Cosmo (Game of Thrones) as Farder Coram, Anne-Marie Duff (Shameless) as Ma Costa, Will Keen (Victor Frankenstein) as Father MacPhail and Ariyon Bakare (Life) as Lord Boreal.

Dæmons will also feature promiently.
