Hope it doesn't disrespect the source material. I hope that's even possible here.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Well we know that no matter how good or bad it is. Alan Moore will think it's trash. The movie was pretty faithful and had good performances and he doesnt even want to give it a chance

If Lindelof combines what he learn from Lost and The Leftovers then he might be able to hit this out of the park!!!

Can we get some actually stuff here lol enough of this cryptic nonsense. We're already interested in a live action Watchmen tv show.

@Kevwebsz - When does this even take place, during the book, before the book, after the book

While I maintain a Spawn HBO live action show would've been cooler - HBO is good shit, and I'll be watching this when it comes out.

@Kman - hopefully they can keep the quality up, a lot of hbo shows end up going down hill after the first few seasons. the only consitantly great, long runnining show from them is Sopranos

@dracula - that's debatable - Wire was good, Deadwood was good and canceled too early (as evidence of the movie being made), GOT hasn't fallen off, The Leftovers was good, Enoutrage and Big Love kept me intrigued -

But they do have a fair share of things that fell off.

@dracula

That’s a little hyperbolic

Off topic last week I watched the movie The Time Machine and Jeremy Irons was playing some Morloch character and he was acting circles around everybody in the movie. That's it I got nothing else. I'm excited for this show though.

I'm assuming this takes place in the present day, being that Ozzy is an old man. Interesting premise to see where all these characters ended up, but that means no Rorschach : (
It looks like they're doing a Sons of Batman/Jokerz story for his part.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Dude, you need to watch Into the Badlands. I don't care if I sound like a broken record, I know you love martial arts movies, and this show is one of the best things on TV right now.

What happened to the League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen tv series. It was being developed and we havent heard anything in a long time. At least we had Penny Dreadful

@dracula - im guessing its dead since the only thing i can find about it is from 2013, where fox was developing a pilot for it. then 2015 they were working on a reboot movie for it that went nowhere. now disney owns the rights to it

Will this be the show that takes over "Game of Thrones'" place? I know, you can't replace "Game of Thrones." However, as incredible as "Westworld" is, it just doesn't seem to be picking up the fanbase that a show like "Game of Thrones" has/will have had.

@TheCantilope - to be honest, I dont think there will be a tv series as big as GoT anytime soon

Why bother making a comic book based show that has nothing to do with the comic book or resembles it in any way?
Brave
Brave - 5/1/2019, 2:42 PM
The Watchmen film is almost a great experiment into how presentation affects adaptation. Despite being a 1:1 translation of Alan Moore's writing (minus the flipped implications of the ending), it feels COMPLETELY different from the comic. The movie literally feels grim and gritty, everything is stylized and extraordinary while the comic is the complete opposite: ordinary, unsettling, and melancholic. They contrast even in the casting and acting performances vs the comic characters - people who stand out in the regular world vs super mundane folks.

Kumkani
Kumkani - 5/1/2019, 3:10 PM
@Brave - It amazes me how those motion comic scenes were in a special featurette for the digital release of Watchmen, and the featurette itself (or another one) has a bunch of people involved in the film talk about how unorthodox and odd the colour choices for the graphic novel were. And yet, for some stupid reason the film ditches all of that for this ugly combination of an overwhelming blue filter and muddy browns.

Perfectly illustrates how Snyder thinks he gets something but he really doesn't.
