Get ready for a fifth serving of brains as The CW has officially announced that its renewed iZombie for Season 5. They've also picked up five other series, but unfortunately not Wayward Sisters.

In the best news of the day, The CW has renewed iZombie for a fifth season.

The beloved Rose McIver-led series is currently in the midst of an intense fourth season and has two episodes left to air before its season finale on May 28th. Monday's installment will see Liv consume the brains of a germaphobe, which should be quite hysterical as she tries to survive through flu season.

On a more disappointing note, the network has passed on the Supernatural spinoff, Wayward Sisters, which is definitely surprising since the backdoor pilot in January was received exceptionally well by both critics and fans alike. Supernatural remains the network's second-highest rated program with one of the largest fanbases on the internet, so it's curious to see the network pass on an opportunity to capitalize
with a sister series in the same universe.

Following the news, the stars and showrunner expressed their disappointment:

In other CW news, the network has renewed The 100 and has canceled both Life Sentence and Valor.

The CW has also announced today that they've picked up The Vampire Diaries and The Originals spinoff, Legacies, which will tell the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Additional pickups include CharmedIn The DarkRoswell, New Mexico; and All American. Read the new series synopses below:

Congrats to the iZombie fanbase.

I think they should have given the Supernatural spin-off a shot.

@NinnesMBC - I can see them passing on it in favor of Charmed.

@ScionStorm - Yeah, that makes sense to me as well.

That makes TWO pilots that CW passed on. Which is a shame too because I actually liked Bloodlines, and this would be good for fans of these characters to get exposer to them.

Also disappointed in CW because WS would have at least been better than this trash Charmed remake that no one asked for.

@JonAwesome - Charmed remake is gonna be trash, but the Roswell one should at least be decent (it has potential).

@JonAwesome - Charmed: One of many bad Buffy rip offs. Roswell: One of the few good Buffy rip offs. Buffy rocks, that needs a revival, but Joss needs to be involved

@dracula - I thought Roswell was much more of an X-Files copycat than Buffy.

@dracula - I would be down for a Buffy Reboot as long as Joss Whedon is involved!

Which shows do you think will last past their first season?

What's up with this inter-species romance thing? Is the girl in Roswell going to get impregnated with alien babies? LMFAO! Please let this be an insane comedy.

So wait are both Charmed and Roswell remakes or time jump continuations? Im sooooooo confused.
PrimitiveMan
PrimitiveMan - 5/11/2018, 8:44 PM
@MarvelnDCLover - Both look to be remakes.

Charmed looks like it will be a political motivated show, with no connection to the original Charmed universe (even dropping the naming of sisters with P-names). While Roswell has potential to be a decent drama/romantic series, it just depends on what the writers behind Roswell choose to focus on.
ScionStorm
ScionStorm - 5/12/2018, 1:32 AM
@PrimitiveMan - I just really want Roswell to be a twisted comedy. Add something new to their arsenal alongside iZombie. I don't think I can stand Smallville:Roswell Cop Edition.
