AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Has Officially Been Renewed For An Abbreviated Sixth Season

Many fans seemed certain that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would finish its run with this current fifth season, but it's now been announced that ABC has renewed the show for another batch of episodes.

It was a close call, ABC has officially announced that Coulson and co. will return for a sixth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - albeit a considerably shorter than usual one.

The network has handed out an abbreviated 13-episode sixth season renewal for the Marvel TV series, the season 5 finale of which is set to air on May 18.

Despite waning ratings, S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to be a strong DVR gainer and an even stronger international seller for ABC. That said, this next season will almost certainly be the last one unless the show sees a dramatic spike in viewership.

This is obviously great news for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s loyal fanbase, but do any of you think that the show has run its course? Drop us a comment in the usual place.
